I always enjoy watching the Super Bowl, but it usually feels like Im watching a foreign film without subtitles. This year, I thought Super Bowl XL would be a perfect opportunity to learn some football terminology by applying it to the part of the game I already know and love: the commercials...

Personally, my favorite was the Bud Light commerical where the guy hid them around the office and it caused havoc...but overall, I was disappointed with them...

Thought the FEDEX one was great.

I liked the Bud "streaker sheep" and the Bud Clydesdale colt ones the best.
I still laugh when I think about the streaker.

I sort of liked the Whopperettes and got a kick out of Hugh Hefner commenting on Desperate Housewives, but overall it was a pretty sad lot. The FedEx commercial was pretty good but over the top - it needed one punch line, not a whole handful.

I liked the ones between the commercials where the guys in the black and white striped jerseys were pretending to be officiating. THAT was funny. :p

Heh. Actually I think that this year will be known as the Refbowl and the playoffs as well. Never seen a season so muddled by bad calls all around. No one will remember the ads like in years past, although IMO the ads stank as bad as the game.
FYI, ifilm.com has the ads in one location.

The FedEx one with the cavemen was my FAVORITE, but there were many other great ones also.

I was a big fan of the Sprint Theft Deterrent commercial. But the Bud and Bud Light commercials as a group were the best.

I enjoyed the "Magic Fridge." My least favorite was the saccharine, too-cute-by-half Clydesdale, which seems to have many a FReeper devotee.

I wouldn't buy anything from Anheuser Busch. Besides contibuting heavily to the Kerry campaign in 2004, they contibute to the
MALDEF legal fund which supports Aztlan.

Ameriquest's stuff gets my vote.

The worst ones were the lame Pepsi commericals.
To: Always Right
True, Pepsi entered the realm of self-parody with Brown & Bubbly.

I liked the Ameriquest commercial where the doctor zaps the fly with the heart paddles while standing over the patient as the patient's wife and child arrive.
That one and the Sprint commercial about the phone with the "crime deterrant feature".

The hidden bud bottles was the funniest, and the diet pepsi hiphop/trash was the most pointless/disgusting.
To: dson7_ck1249
I liked the CareerBuilder ad where the guy tells the lady on the phone that he works with a bunch of monkeys, and the lady tells him she works with jackasses. (RNC campaign ad?)
The Hummer was the worst.
