Seattle coach laments having to take on the guys in the striped shirts, too
DETROIT - No appreciation or consolation in Seattle for the Seahawks, at least not yet.
Nope, they were still stuck in frustration.
The post-Super Bowl parties went into early Monday morning as the Seahawks at least tried to celebrate their season, instead of their somber Sunday. Later, coach Mike Holmgren tried to refocus the team, momentarily, on what it had done and what it still may do.

And the Seahawks were still stinging from a few officials calls that went against them, such as Darrell Jacksons touchdown catch that was taken away by a penalty and a disputed TD run by Pittsburghs Ben Roethlisberger.
We knew it was going to be tough going up against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Holmgren told the fans at Qwest Field. I didnt know we were going to have to play the guys in the striped shirts as well.

When you see this play in the future, I think you'll change your tune.
I live near Seattle, but I'm not a sports fan.
Holmgren's comments are mild compared to what most Seahawks fans are saying around here!
I'm no expert on football, but imho that game was fixed just to keep Detroit from rioting.

Are we still arguing over whether that was a TD or not? Do you people actually watch replays? The ball clearly broke the plane of the goal for a TD- it's pretty darn obvious. It doesn't matter where he lands after getting pushed back.

And why should we care what Roethlisberger thought at the time? The play was so close, we are talking about an inch or two, there was no way he could have known whether or not he was in. I don't think anyone watching the play live could have been 100% certain including the ref. However the replay puts it to rest- unless you are so blinded by hatred for the Steelers you refuse to concede the obvious.
All the whining and crying in the world by the Seahawks fans and the Steeler detractors won't change a thing. The Steelers won Super Bowl XL.
The Lombardi Trophy for Super Bowl XL now resides in Pittsburgh. There is no asterisk on the trophy, only in the minds of the detractors.
The crying, whining detractors say to put an asterisk after the XL. I say to put some ice on their wounds.
The Steelers have the "Terrible Towel" and use it to cheer their team on.
The Seahawks have some sort of towel that they use to cry into.
The Steelers had a Victory Parade today. What did the Seahawks fans and Steeler detractors do today? Cry and whine some more.
They have been crying and whining for the last 50 hours. Time to grow up, face reality and get over it.
They're acting 100 times worse in winning.
I don't know that the fix was in from the NFL, nor do I know that the refs were paid off...so your assumptions 2 and 3 are dubious...but as for your question...if there was a fix related to betting it does not follow that it'd be in favor of the underdog if the bettors were betting the Steelers to more than cover the line.
I saw Ben say that on the show, LIVE.
SOMETIMES the guy with the ball cannot see as well as the cameras. SOMETIMES. There are a few posts here that show very clearly the ball over (above the goal line before he got pushed down to the ground. VERY CLEARLY.
So if you don't want to believe me or others, if you continue to ignore physical fact, then you can just stick something somewhere, and continue to be the ignorant fool that you SEEM to want to be.
****
It only has to be on the goal line.
You're quite amazing! How can you type and see that post # 390 if you're blind?
Did you go to DU after Bush beat Gore in 2000?
****
Correctamundo........... I think some of these losers/whiners had Seattle and the points!
;-)
You should have stopped at, "I'm no expert on football".
;-)
Maybe those guys were claiming to be referees, but they were lying.
Zing!
This is where you lose all credibility with any self-perceived football knowledge. Now, go and enjoy your team's victory.
If the officiatin' wasn't so bad in the Skins/Hawks game, the Hawks woulda never made it to the superbowl.
(completely untrue by the way but it needed to be said)
;-)
