Highly unlikely. I live in a very small town in the middle of nowhere compared to Chicago. We don't have crime. I feel absolutely safe walking down any street in my town after dark. I'd not feel safe at any time walking down most streets in Chicago.

You believe swearing never to go there is not an insult? If I said I would never set foot in your home you would most definitely take that as an insult.
Why? I don't know you. Why would I want you in my house? I actually take it as a good sign that you won't come here. That means you are minding your own business and not invading my space. How can that be insulting to anyone?
I have walked everywhere in Chicago and have no fear. But I can understand how those who are not familiar with it can believe they are endangered everywhere. That is the perception given by the media. My neighborhood is far safer than most and really is comparable to small towns or better on a per thousand basis.
There are few, if any, professional orchestras outside the major cities, ONE professional football team, no baseball, basketball, no museums.
