Overall, they were about as exciting as having the aged Stones on stage.
I had the impression that Jagger would never make it on "American Idol", and the band members that knew about three cords on their guitars wasn't much better. However, they did make a lot of noise to cover up for the lack of their ability to entertain.

Commercials where ok - magic frig was cute - I tuned in for about 10 seconds of the Stones and couldn't take any more - what was with Stevie Wonder and his "we must have peace or we will all be annihilated" song.

LOL! I turned to my wife and told her that if Mick was on American Idol, Randy would say, "Dog, you almost sound like Mick jagger, but you just don't have it." Simon would say, "That was awful, every note was off key." And Paula would say, "Kind of interesting, but I'm sorry, it's just not appropriate for what we're looking for here."

Yep, the Stones pretty much sucked.
But as to the '3 chords'; don't be shocked but most of their songs ARE pretty basic.
- Satisfaction - A D E B7
- Brown Suger (open G tuning) - C F Bb F G (so that 'really' shouldn't count as the open strings ARE a G) and Eb then some major Chord variations like Csus G2 & Gsus. But with open G tuning anywhere you barre a fret you're playing a chord.
- 19th Nervous Breakdown - E A B
- As Tears Go Buy - G A C D
- Start Me Up - C F Eb
But what shocked me was that Keith was NOT playing his Fender Strat??? When I saw that Hollow Body Arch Top (maybe a Gibson 356?) I thought 'WTF?!? That's like Eric Clapton playing a Les Paul, or BB King NOT playing his 'Lucille' - SACRILEDGE :-)
An aside; the 'king' of 3 chord R&R (IMO) had to be CCR. No one can make a D A G sound as good as they did (Bad Moon Rising).

Did you notice the two guitarists talking to one another during the performance? I think one said "can you believe these fools actually pay money to see us?"
