Lance Armstrong and Sheryl Crow have split, the couple announced in a joint statement Friday night.
The seven-time Tour de France champion and the rock star announced their engagement in September. It would have been her first marriage and his second. He has three children from a previous marriage.
"After much thought and consideration we have made a very tough decision to split up. We both have a deep love and respect for each other and we ask that everyone respect our privacy during this very difficult time," the statement said.
I agree!
And, LOL, maybe you've hit it, nutmeg! Afterall, Lance isn't racing this year... He won't be celebre du jour. And Lance and Sheryl, other than her touring, would be just another couple at the mall. Maybe she liked the attention from coming between Lance and his wife (their attempt to reconcile) and touring France in high profile...
Le Tour won't be quite the same without Lance, but I won't be missing all the Sheryl face shots.
Guess Lance wasn't strong enough to be her man.
Yes, harsh, but needed.
Lance needs to ride a tamdum bike up to a real woman and swoop her up from behind.
Did I mention her bad posture?

Why am I responding to this? Why do I care? Does this matter to me? Where am I? Who am I?? Has my world spun out of control??? |
Geez, I need a drink...
Yes. Those beautiful, sweet daughters. They need their father with them.
Unclear who left whom.
http://www.flkeysmls.com/cust_srchsfh.idc?mls=530700&sqlargs=(530700,M,,0) That kind of trailer trash or something else? I don't care for Crow, but I care even less for bigots.
When I go into Miami, I won't look people in the eye while driving, in stores, etc. I haven't had a bad experience, personally. Just learned to 'fit in'. If you look someone in the eye, you look like a 'tourist', an easy target. The same with out of state plates or rental car plates. That is why Florida instituted the Sunshine road signs... to keep tourists out of the bad areas.
Have to say I'm rather amazed and bemused at the replies my comment about looking into anothers' eyes is generating. I've been in seven countries and in some really rough, kill you dead, areas and have never experienced a problem because I looked someone directly in the eye. Admittedly, in one of those countries, I was armed to the teeth, so that one might not count. Likewise, I live in Florida now and have never encountered a single problem.
I always thought that huge nose of hers made her look like a jack-o-lantern.
Plus it's not like she's some wilting lily. The woman gets up onstage in front of thousands to sing her songs, so one would think/hope that she would be able to muster the strength to look an interviewer in the eye.
The shy excuse doesn't cut it for me.
would you perhaps prefer 'skanky tramp'?
someone had a link to a spread of Ms. Crow's photos, which lead one to the conclusions that I reached...
cheers, Al
As I recall, though, the general consensus at FR last year was that it wouldn't last once the limelight faded: he would never be able to stand being Mr. Sheryl Crow & she wouldn't be able to stand being with someone who was no longer the hot topic 'it boy' du jour from whom she could mooch her trademark free camera time anymore.(Just ask Owen Wilson.) Looks like we were right.
For the life of me, though, I still don't get why guys think she's so hot. She's just got such a godawful ugly personality, that's all I'm able to see: a nasty, narcissistic, constipated, shriveled up old shrew with a gratuitously foul mouth who never has anything good to say about anyone excepting herself,of course, but who (let's try to think of something nice to say, now) can play guitar pretty decently I suppose. Not anywhere near good enough in my book to make up for the massive character flaws, though. She's just bitchiness personified to me. But I'm not a guy and let's face it they're not famous for their capacity for character judgement when it comes to vulgar sleazebags, even icky aging ones, who flash their past-their-prime crotches for the cameras.(Whew! Excuse me, I seem to be having a meow moment here.)
Speaking of real estate, Al (post above), I do wonder if they're going to have to sell the Dripping Springs ranch & the new lakehouse or if those are in his name. Hmmmm.
now that was funny
