Brad Pitt wants to go the gay way!

It looks like Hollywood heart-throb Brad Pitt is desperate to cash in on the success of gay cowboy movie Brokeback Mountain, for the actor has allegedly ordered his agents to find him a role that has him playing a gay man in a new movie.

According to a source, Pitt became keen to play the part of a gay man after seeing the critical acclaim received by Brokeback Mountain.

"Brad has asked his people to find him a script to play a gay man. He's seen the critical acclaim that Brokeback Mountain has won and he wants a piece of it," The Sun quoted the source, as saying.

"He wants it to be a story that appeals to both men and women and he wants it to be the edgiest work he's done," the source added.

And though the actor is aware that he will be shocking a lot of his fans, he's nonetheless determined to go ahead with his gay plans.

"Brad knows it would be seen as shocking to take on a gay role because he's seen as such a heart-throb. But he has never shied away from taking on controversial films, and he has often chosen to do smaller, more challenging movies, rather than go for the big box-office smash," the source said.

Those two were established and those are pretty forgetable roles unless you are into homosexual "films".

I would submit that those two examples are hardly heartthrob careers.

Brad Pitt's whole career is being a heart throb.

It really boils down to "whatever". He can do whatever he wants with his career. WE can do whatever we want with our MONEY.

Perhaps she is "encouraging" him.

If thats the case, he needs to "grow a pair" and not be so gullible.

Although Philadelphia is somewhat forgetable especially compared to Hanks' other work, it was the beginning of him becoming an established dramatic actor. Before that he was in primarily comedic films.

Dog Day Afternoon is of a much higher stature in Al Pacino's career. And although he was established at that point it was still very early in his career and in 1974, could have been the end of it. It was much easier for Hanks "going gay" in 1993.

I think this is an attempt for Pitt to do what Hanks did. To become a respected dramatic actor instead of just a comedian or pretty face. He does have an Oscar nomination to his name, and would have stood a good chance of winning if not for Kevin Spacey in The Usual Suspects. Still 12 Monkeys is not a mainstream movie. He is looking for something to make that move into mainstream well thought of roles. Playing a gay or retarded character is a short cut to doing that.

Reason 398,499 not to ever watch Hollyweird movies. Or maybe on in five thousand.

He's pretty gay acting now that he follows his man Angelina Jolie around the world like a lap dog and lets her make all the decisions about their life.

Can't say this is surprising. Actually he'd make a better gay guy than a straight guy. I have never understood what women see in him.
