S4T, I fully understand your concern. If monies were going to such groups I'd have a concern as well. This particular project keeps control in the hands of the local donors who are the best possible stewards of those resources. The Salvation Army is almost as frugal although their staff are paid, modestly.
In contrast, Red Cross and United Way take a substantial 'management fee' percentage out of contributions and distribute the *remainder* through layers of paid and volunteer bureaucracy--ungh.
Thanks for the info. That does allay my fears. I hesitated to write that critique, but then knew you would take it in the spirit in which it was offered.
