Looking for Freeper book recommendations.
What's the latest book you have read?
The Case for Christ: A Journalist's Personal Investigation of the Evidence for Jesus by Lee Strobel.
Quick read from a researcher determined to prove Christ did not exist. He becomes a believer though a series of interviews with prominent scholars and the results his research reveals.
The Lazarus Vendetta : A Covert-One Novel by Robert Ludlum, Patrick Larkin.
Lt. Col. Jon Smith, M.D., a scientist and operative for Covert-One, a super top-secret intelligence unit uncovers a deadly plan hatched by an environmental group run amok.
Just finished "The Mote In God's Eye" by Niven & Pournelle - great sci-fi. Cuurently working on Thomas Paine's "Common Sense and Other Writings".
"The Fall of the Roman Empire: A new history of Rome and the Barbarians" by Peter Heather.
Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell. You can't recommend this book enough.
Bunts: Curt Flood, Camden Yards, Pete Rose and Other Reflections on Baseball by George F. Will (New York: Scribner, 1998)
"Desolation Island," by Patrick O'Brian.
I'm currently reading O'Brian's "Treasure of War," but my new copy of "Dylan Thomas: A New Life" by Andrew Lycett beckons.
102 Minutes: Breathtaking stories of survival in the burning and collapsing World Trade Center.
I've read one chapter of "Steffon of Starbonn," a sci-fi written by one of our own, FReeper Bender2. I'll plunge into that one after I finish McMurtry's book.
The only no-no's are books by Hillary and any of the 5 autobiographies of Maya Angelou.
I recently read his "1776". Another great read.
The Venona Secrets, documenting the Communist conspiracy.
Just finished "The Plumed Serpent," by D. H. Lawrence, takes place in Mexico. Written in 1926 about race, politics, and the path and vision of a nation, to put it very simplistically. I could almost taste the modern Aztlan/La Raza similarities.
"The True Meaning of Patriotism," by Cindy Sheehan.
The book was over before I started.
I recently read "Do as I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy," by Peter Schweizer. Very entertaining. I am currently reading/looking at (lots of pictures) "The Israel Museum, Jerusalem" published by the museum last year to celebrate its 40th anniversary. This is a great book for lovers of Israel.
"John Adams" by David McCullough
"The Glorious Cause" by Jeff Shaara
"To The Last Man" by Jeff Shaara
"To Rule the Waves" by Arthur Herman
Now I'm reading "Victory in Tripoli" by Joshua E. London. So far I've enjoyed all of them.
