Moral Theory by David Oderberg. A modern defense of natural law theory against subjectivism and utilitarianism/consequentialism.

Basic Economics by Thomas Sowell. You can't recommend this book enough.

"Desolation Island," by Patrick O'Brian.

I'm currently reading O'Brian's "Treasure of War," but my new copy of "Dylan Thomas: A New Life" by Andrew Lycett beckons.

Before asking for book recommendations, wouldn't it be reasonable to narrow the field a little? Say, "military history", "ancient history", "biography", "philosophy", "sociology", "Renaissance" - what are you fields of interests?

Last one I read cover to cover was Robert Kaplan's Imperial Grunts, which is a wonderful read and made me even prouder of the men in our military, if that is possible.

I'm finishing "The Loop Group" by Larry McMurtry.

I've read one chapter of "Steffon of Starbonn," a sci-fi written by one of our own, FReeper Bender2. I'll plunge into that one after I finish McMurtry's book.

I'm open to any good book. Military, History, Fiction, Sci-Fi, Western, non-Fiction. FReepers have good judgement.

The only no-no's are books by Hillary and any of the 5 autobiographies of Maya Angelou.

Just finished "The Plumed Serpent," by D. H. Lawrence, takes place in Mexico. Written in 1926 about race, politics, and the path and vision of a nation, to put it very simplistically. I could almost taste the modern Aztlan/La Raza similarities.

I recently read "Do as I Say (Not As I Do): Profiles in Liberal Hypocrisy," by Peter Schweizer. Very entertaining. I am currently reading/looking at (lots of pictures) "The Israel Museum, Jerusalem" published by the museum last year to celebrate its 40th anniversary. This is a great book for lovers of Israel.

"John Adams" by David McCullough
"The Glorious Cause" by Jeff Shaara
"To The Last Man" by Jeff Shaara
"To Rule the Waves" by Arthur Herman

Now I'm reading "Victory in Tripoli" by Joshua E. London. So far I've enjoyed all of them.
