Interesting. It's not yet February 1 in Virginia, yet your signup timestamp indicates it.

Listen. I am from Washington State.
You learn to do the best you can, and apologize profusely. ; ).
It's fine. Nobody holds it against you.
To: mirvin
Don't feel too bad. I'm from New Orleans. I've got Blanco AND Nagin to feel embarassed about.

Not your fault.
I thought he was quite partisan in everything he said and then he said we need to work together. Thanks for your post. It restores my confidence in my hearing.

I only heard the address and didn't even hear the response. But after all these posts about Kaine, I wish I'd seen both. My Virginian son told me to tune in and watch Kaine's eyebrows. It must have really been bad to have generated this many responses from embarrassed Virginians.

It's not your fault. Everybody's got a loony Aunt Edna type in their family. Tim Kaine is the Virginians' Aunt Edna.
(No offense meant to anyone who has a sane Aunt Edna.)

Mir shouldn't feel bad. He's not from my state (NY) :D

The roadkill squad has already been called in. Sounds like a sincere apology to me, but I'm awfully darned gullible sometimes.

And I'm sorry down here in Florida about that whole hangin' chad thing in 2000. A cleaner victory sure would have saved a lot of Al Gore gas over the past few years!

As punishment for voting poorly, Virginia has been sentenced to a four-year Kaine-ing.

Don't worry, we all have embarrassments in the woodpile.
For God's sake, we Tennesseans had Algore. If anyone needs to apologize, it's us. But I'm not apologizing for anything!

The I-81 route through Virginia is one of my favorite drives. It usually takes me into Waffle House country and I get to see lots of caves. One of my favorite spots in Virginia is the Natural Bridge off I-81 where I get to see where George Washington himself surveyed. I usually get a few bottles of good Virginia wine from the gift shop. From vineyards that were started by Thomas Jefferson.
