While most NFL teams slow down in their off-season, Terrell Owens' off-season is just heating up.
Denver sources have told FOXSports.com that the Pro Bowl wide receiver and his agent Drew Rosenhaus went to Denver on Monday to meet with Broncos officials at the house of coach Mike Shanahan. Shanahan wasn't present at the meeting, according to sources, but others in the organization met privately with Owens.
Owens and his agent have been given permission to seek a trade out of Philadelphia. And teams such as Denver, Dallas, Tampa Bay and Miami have been linked to his services.

Just to add to my previous post, the Eagles will most certainly cut Owens if he is not traded by March. After that, they have no control over where he goes.
I seriously doubt that any team will trade for Owens. Why should they if they can just wait until March and not have to give up anything. I don't any teams will try to do what the Ravens did and trade for him without his consent as it would just cause problems for the team.
Owens and his agent asked for permission to seek a trade so just so that negotiations with other teams wouldn't be illegal and considered tampering.
Unfortunately for Randy, he doesn't get a vote. That being said, I doubt he will go to the Raiders as lack of receivers really isn't their problem.

What an excellent example of the Broncos taking on a miscreant only to become a bigger one in Denver. Yeah, the KC Chefs really stuck it to us on that one.
With that said, it's fun to think about Owens in Denver, especially since he would give the much needed stretch capability on offense so that Shanahan can chew up defenses on the ground. Also, Owens can block like the best of them downfield.
The problem with T.O. is he wants to play with a quarterback who can get him the football BUT not one that'll cut into his own glory.
Paying him, then fining him for not honoring his contract... like they did in '05, when they recouped pretty much his entire salary, The only way the Eagles have to pay him is if he shows up for work, keeps his mouth shut and plays.
Not going to happen. And the salary cap isn't a consideration anymore. So,like Reid said, they can keep him as long as they want to.
Besides, if you don't think a team will give up a fifth round pick to avoid getting into a bidding war over one of the best receivers in football, you're just wrong.
The Eagles hold the cards here, and they've already shown, they're going to play hardball to the bitter end. They're not letting him go to Dallas or Washington, end of story. Feel free to ping me next month if I'm proven wrong.
Hey, I hang out at Shanahan's house all the time. He never locks his doors. Or his liquor cabinet.
The Eagles hold no cards at all but you are right about them playing hard ball to the bitter end. When in comes to Owens the Eagles, an otherwise model franchise, just loses its mind and engages in phyrric victories.
Unless the Eagles cut him by March, they will have to pay him $7.5 million in bonuses will count against the cap. There is no way the Eagles are going to pay out that sort of money just to keep Owens away from certain teams.
Also, the Eagles don't control where Owens goes, Terrell Owens does. No team in the league will enter into trade negotiations with the Eagles unless they have already ironed out new contract details with Owens.
The only thing the Eagles might get in a trade would be a salary dump of an existing player that doesn't really fit into the long term plans of the organization.
There are probably 10 to 15 teams that would like to kick the tires and see what kind of deal they could make with Owens. If Dallas makes him the best offer and the Eagles try to trade him to another team, then Owens will just tell that team that he wouldn't be happy there and they would back off. If the Eagles still refused to trade him to a team like Dallas then Owens and Dallas would just wait until March when the Eagles would cut him.
There is no way that the Eagles would keep Owens either. Owens would just keep his mouth shut and run his patterns at 90% speed. He couldn't be fined for that and the Eagles would be using up lots of cap room for spite.
We'll see about all that soon enough.
