The Dixie Chicks were humming along as a darling country music trio until one night in March 2003 in London. Lead singer Natalie Maines slammed President George W. Bush at a concert and announced to the British crowd, "We're ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas."
That didn't sit well with country music fans then, and now Maines says she's finished with the genre and is none too pleased with the fans, basically labeling them as redneck hicks.

I feel a Natalie Maines, Cindy Sheehan duet comin' on...
Its an old picture. go to wireimage or gettyimages and search her. Shes a pig!
She doesnt live in Austin anymore. She moved her entire family to Los Angeles so she couls be "rock n roll". LOL~
Maybe they could get kanye too!
They also got some access to good songs thanks to their unique sound.
One of the character traits of these hicks that this idiot has defamed is a sense of compassion and forgiveness that is ingrained in us through church and our up bringing.
Burning that bridge is so stupid of her!!
Yeah, and Linda Rondstadt, except they would have to keep her out of the food trough in the green room...
According to their website, they are working on a Spanish Polka album.
I dont think they could afford to feed both fatalie and Linda...and even if they could a fight would break out. I got money on Linda whippin fatalies ass for the last twinkie!
LOL! I think you're right. Rondstadt has her by a good 50lbs.
Shes bigger than that now.
Which was the reason you lost your fans in the first place chubs.
We put up with you trashing Toby Keith, we put up with you trashing the President but when you posed in a PeTA ad then had it pulled because your fans were a bunch of "redneck hicks" you lost us. We bought your stinking products and we deserved something from you besides contempt.
So I baked your CD's (they looked like big silver potato chips) and sent them off to the Country station with the vow that should I ever hear you on the airwaves I would promptly turn the station off.
Now you think you are going to "cross over" guess what chubs, that only works if you have a solid fan base that will follow you.
Say hi to Chris Gaines.
I'd believe it...
I could have sworn the Packers were looking to sign her for defensive line help....
I have to laugh. After the uproar the Dixie Chicks had a sold out tour in 2003 earning $39.8 million. Actually selling MORE tickets after Maines' comments than before.
IMO, if Lloyd Maines was involved in its production, the CD you are about to purchase is usually a good one.
"Redneck hicks" of the world unite! This trash-talking bimbo just made that term a badge of honor for all patriotic Americans, regardless of social status or place of residence!
i wonder when this dixie chick will speak out against the confederate flag
