"How else can Bob Hayes, Lee Roy Jordan, Chuck Howley, Cliff Harris, Charlie Waters or Rayfield Wright (to mention just a few) not be in the Hall?"

Cliff Harris and Charley Waters were mediocre safeties who benefited from a great the Dallas front seven.

Rayfield Wright is the only one on your list who could be considered "great."

Jordan, Howley, and Hayes were merely "good."

Let's see: Lee Roy Jordan played in six pro bowls, had over 1,200 combined tackles, 743 solo tackles, recorded 21 combined tackles in a single game, yeah, doesn't sound like anything special. BTW, if Harris and Waters were mediocre, how come more members of the "great defensive line" that propped them up never made it into the hall?

Actually, Herb Adderly, Mike Ditka, and Lance Alworth are all in the Hall of Fame. Adderly won one Super Bowl with the Cowboys, and Ditka and Alworth won their only Super Bowl player rings as members of the Cowboys.

There will be more Cowboys in the hall. Aikman and Smith will go in on first ballot. If Irvin doesn't, it will be because of off-field problems. Charles Hailey should also go in, along with several members of the early ninties offensive line.
