Did they give him toradol? That is a great drug that reduces the need for heavy pain meds and all their side effects.
Well done, Tex. Order a pizza. You're welcome.
I'm okay-I can't eat when I'm all revved up like now-all I do is barf-I'm better off calming myself by cooking dinner-then I'll be ready to get hubby to the table and eat. There are some of those South Beach diet frozen lunch thingees in the freezer I could eat, but they really don't look that appetizing-I'll wait till I cook the steaks.
steak sounds great. i am attempting the modified atkins/south beach. basically doing no bread, pasta, rice. it hasn't been bad so far.
What is toradol-I've never heard of it, but it sounds interesting-how does it work? Hubby has prescription strength ibuprophen to take, which he had when he broke his clavicle and when he had himself "fixed"-it works really well for him at 3X per day (with food), and he didn't need it for more than 3-4 days before he went to over-the-counter Advil. He can't take the heavy duty stuff-it turns him into Mr. Hyde and he has scary hallucinations, too.
I don't do bread, pasta, etc except for 1-2 times a week, and I've weighed 117-123 for over 10 years now-I don't miss the starch that much any more and I've really developed an appreciation for fresh salad goodies and steamed vegetables. I bought a few of the South Beach frozen thingees to try, and they really don't look bad, but I'm hungry for some protein cooked very rare-steak...
Oh-the South Beach cereal bars are really good for breakfast-I bought some cranberry ones last week to try and they are really good.
Ketorolac methomine, a NSAID, that reduces the need for more potent analgesics. Usually they give it IM right after surgery and then follow it with pills.
the only thing i really miss is cereal for breakfast. i found a southbeach cereal that is decent and have done that a few mornings this week, but no way around it, i do better with eggs.
oh good i need to look for those!
Steak...
OK, you win. (I'm so easy).
Interesting-I saw something on the animal channel awhile back about pain killers that are being developed from the venom of some insects, and how they work. Toradol almost sounds like some that they described.
Ann's beyond the pale with that stuff-she's lowering herself to the level of liberals, and I don't think it speaks well for her at all, either.
Time to go make sure hubby is comfortable, light the grill, steam cauliflower and bake a potato for hubby-salad is already made-back later.
I've told you my opinion of her doesn't match that of most freepers. Also, in the public eye, you must be careful about the jokes you tell.
Good luck with the appetite, Tex!
