Dixie Chicks' new album for 'people that want to hear
NASHVILLE, TN Thursday -- Entertainment Weekly reports that The Dixie Chicks are releasing their new album without expectations that country radio will play their music.
The trio reportedly addresses "the incident" (The 2003 UK comments about President Bush), on the song "Not Ready to Make Nice" -- and a tune called "Lubbock or Leave It," addresses radio's boycotting of their music.
"We feel free. We go into this thinking no one's going to play it -- and it's fine. We made it for people who want to hear it," Natalie Maines told EW.
The new album is set for April release.
She has PAX tattood on her fat cankles.. It means peace in ferench. LOL~
And here I thought they'd been axed, battered, and fried up for dinner.
It's gotta be censorship!!! All radio stations must play every song at all times or it wont be fair!!
/whine cry baby lib rant
They were and now they are making an album whinning about it. They have also produced a DVD that highllights their patriotism (sarcasm) for standing up to George W Bush. It will be released along with the album.
Who are the Dixie Chicks?
I am praying that album sales are so bad the only thing they can book is possibly a rodeo ;P
Can't wait for it to tank!!!
All two of them.
What's happened IMHO, is that their comments offended their core fan base. Freedom of speech works two ways. They can say whatever they want, but I don't have to buy their product. Their CD sales have dried up and for good reason. That is what is happening.
Musicians should never get involved in politics.
On The Vote For Change Tour, they couldnt sell out the Ford Theatre..it only seats 3000. ROFLMAO!
Llano Estacado/Hub City Ping
I hear that each song has an idee fixe theme played by a tiny solo violin.
I remember watching the Maines Brothers coming to our HS assembleys. I used to like them. She has a lot of nerve dissing my hometown. I will NEVER play her music.
I thought it was "Lubbock through my rearview mirror?"
That was the name/chorus of a Mac Davis song...but there was a bumpersticker that said "Lubbock or Leave It", along with one featuring a flat line with a single-strand barbed-wire fence running above it that read "Ski Lubbock". These days it's "Keep Lubbock Flat" (a counter to "Keep Austin Weird"). Maybe we need "Keep Natalie in Austin" next.
Lubbock or leave it indeed. Another former fan who doesn't buy their cd's anymore.
Or a tour opening for "Great White" in Nepal.
I much prefer Bob Knight as our most notable celebrity of the 21st Century.
And he's prettier.
That's not something you hear every day.
