LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- Rawson Marshall Thurber ("Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story") has signed on to write and direct the big-screen adaptation of "Magnum P.I.," the 1980s series that made Tom Selleck a star.

"Magnum P.I.," which ran on CBS from 1980 to 1988, followed the adventures of Thomas Magnum, a Navy intelligence officer-turned-private investigator hired by wealthy author and playboy Robin Masters to oversee security on the latter's massive Hawaii estate.

If memory serves, Magnum reups for the Navy in the final episode, ... shows up at Rick's wedding in Navy whites. I also recall Higgins denying he was Robin Masters.

WGN shows Magnum twice a day, 11:00 and 1:00 central. This mornings' first episode was "Limbo".

Hey, pal, I warned you not once, but TWICE, about our nocturnal roving dance teams and their hunger for Spandex. Looks like you got served.

The tape is in the mail.

Red heads are either very hot or not. I went through a phase of only dating redheads. LOve them but boy do they have tempers.

Tom Selleck came into my store one day. It was lunch time. I don't usually take a lunch break, but that day I had a visitor I needed to entertain.

Yep, I missed him!

OK I scanned the thread and saw a .45 reference re his gun.

What did he shoot? .45 Win Mag?

Or was the Magnum just a Hollywood thing.

High Road To China was another of my TS favorites; I didn't see the other one.

LOL on "Magnummy"!

WOW, WOW, WOW! I get WGN here in Penna on CATV, AA. Thanks for the tip! I'm on it.

If you ever see "Little Girl Who", I'm the guy in the airport chase scenes with the handlebar moustache and the babe on my arm, protecting her from the shooter.

It was my cell phone's ring tone for quite a while. Got a lot of compliments (usually the gimmimcky ringers annoy folks, but not this one).

Magnum was the character's name. TS carried a 1911 .45cal ACP, as the character did in Nam w/ SEALS.

WalMart had Her Alibi for $5. It's VERY funny. Kind of like Magnum and his voice becomes a writer. You've gotta see it. LOL

LOL on "Magnummy"!

We got cable for the first time a little over a year ago and she says at 2am, "Mom! There's a Magnummy rerun"! LOL!!!

and she doesn't like Magnum anymore

I used it on my condo's answering machine, years ago. I had one of the local DJs do a "Higgins voice", announcing that I was giving one of the Ferrarris a road test, and would get back to them. LOL, back in the day.
