The annual March for Life will mark the 33rd anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court decision to legalize abortion. The Jan. 23 event will begin with an ecumenical prayer service in the Senate Caucus Room of the Russell Building at 8:30 a.m., led by Fr. Frank Pavone, director of Priests for Life.
All U.S. dioceses are also called to observe Monday as a day of penance and prayer for violations to the dignity of human life through acts of abortion and for full restoration of legal guarantees of the right to life.
Fr. Pavone will present a Pro-life Recognition Award to the family of Terri Schiavo for their efforts to defend Terri's life. He will also present an award to pro-life senator Sam Brownback of Kansas.
A Silent No More Awareness gathering will be held after the march at 4 p.m. at the Supreme Court building, where women will share publicly their pain and healing after abortion. The Silent No More Awareness Campaign Web site has a listing of other locations across the country where similar gatherings are planned.
How timely for this thread....
I just saw a news report that Terri's "husband" got married to his "fiancee" that he had 2 kids with...
It made me sick...
But not as SICK as Mr. Michael "-'til-Death-do-us-part" Schiavo, I trust.
God help me if I ever see those two in public. I will forego all manners lessons instilled by my mother and bluntly ask if she is happy that her husband finally offed his wife to marry his whore. I'd say it LOUDLY too.
True...he is one sick puppy!!!
I thought the same thing...when the report was on...and they said 80 something people attended the wedding...and I wondered how they could find 80 people that would want to be around him....
the word "puppy" is WAAAAYY to nice a description I believe.
2 words: human shields.
Another irony is that little girl....whose life support was removed so she could "die with dignity"...but, she started breathing on her own...
I know it is a waste of time to dwell on the "what ifs"...but, I just know that Terri would have had a whole different life with therapy...
Hopefully, this little girl WILL get it...
Are you saying YOU are "this little girl"? I'm kinda stumped here.
I'm thinking that maybe they planned to have their wedding at a time when they knew the Schindlers wouldn't be around. I'm sure they could care less what Michael does now. He should've gotten remarried years ago, and let Terri's family take care of her.
I am sorry if I confused you...
no, I was referring to the little girl who was on life support...
Oh, he couldn't do that....he would have had to pay for a divorce...why would he want to do that, when he could get the state to kill her for free???
You're right, how silly of me! He would've had to split things evenly with Terri. No, no, killing her was a much better idea! And if the state paid, so much the better!
Also could be because they knew the Schindlers were going to be getting a lot of press coverage due to the March for Life events. Remember when the autopsy came out and there was a flurry of news coverage, Schindlers were attending the NRLC convention and made statements, etc.? Within a couple of DAYS Mikey unveiled the previously-secret burial site and that controversial grave marker (I started to call it something less tactful than "controversial," but decided to stay family-friendly, LOL). The burial news took the attention off the autopsy nicely, so much that the press is STILL reporting as "facts" the conventional wisdom/talking points that the ME's report discredited.
He also announced the formation of his PAC right around the time of Terri's birthday, if I remember right.
It's possible the timing of the wedding was a coincidence, but somehow I doubt it.
Oh, I completely agree. You've made some good points. It's kind of like when the Dems break out something new that they want the media to cover instead of any good news (ie. I'm thinking of when the Iraq elections were held and so successful, but the media covered some other "scandal" involving the WH.) It could be the same kind of thing going on here.
I don't really care that Michael got remarried. IMHO, he should have done that years ago. I do object to having the ceremony at a Catholic Church. It gives the impression that this marriage has been blessed by the Church, which I sure hope isn't the case. However, I wouldn't put anything past Bishop Lynch. He has the responsibility of shepherding the faithful, and he did a lousy job of that during Terri's last years. I would love to see the Vatican can him for good.
This is the VERY LEAST the sincere, genuine and courageous Schindlers deserve after the ghoulish nightmare, Felos, the Schiavos and the most corrupt Euthanasia movement forced upon them. I am elated and proud they have been so honored by the pro-life community.
