David Allen's book "Ready for Anything" has helped me to be present. Good advice on how to write down, file away, schedule and keep track of your long term and short term obligations and get them off your mind, so you're more likely to see what's coming up in front of you right now.

I saw a movie recently in which one of the main characters played a multimillionaire. When asked about the secret of his success he stated, "When I was younger I did a lot of dumb things and wasted a lot of my potential. Then I met a person who gave me two words of advice that turned my life around. 'Be present'." What a load.
If you want to become a millionaire, then all you have to do is win the lottery. :-)
