What follows are the chief reasons why I support Zionism stated as briefly as possible.
1. Oppression of the Jews.
The Jewish people are the most oppressed people in all History. Romans feeding Jews to the lions, pogroms in Russia & in Eastern Europe, the Spanish Inquisition, the Holocaust, anti-Semitic Palestinian terrorism, etc., all make this exceedingly clear. In proportion as the gentiles are so inclined to treat Jews in such a way, in that same proportion the feeling of equality and the existence of tolerance between Jews and gentiles are inconceivable.
2. Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism
This being the case, that Zionism is about ending the oppression of Jews, and that the Jews are in fact oppressed, it follows that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. For it is clear that any man who is opposed to ending the oppression of Jews is an anti-Semite, whether he know it or not.
3. Zionism in light of Juche Philosophy
Although the North Koreans support the Palestinians, still, their revolutionary Juche philosophy offers a very convincing justification for Zionism. Kim Jong Il said, in the words of one North Korean, that a culture needs to be viewed "by taking bloodline and language is the common features." He said that what defines a nation must include fellow countrymen "of the same bloodline". Kim Jong Il's definition of a nation is based upon one's blood and language.
I beileve that Kim Jong-il's definition of a nation is correct.
Since I am not going to write a ten-paged essay proving Juche Philosophy correct, I shall leave it at this: I believe Juche Philosopy to be correct, and have extracted therefrom a very convincing justification for Zionism.
Such is my reason for supporting Zionism in light of Juche philosophy.
4. Jewish Culture and History are linked with Israel.
For the Jewish people, the conception of a return to Israel has deep cultural roots. Examples: the Land of Israel is spoken of in many Jewish prayers. The Jewish calender, and with it many holidays, is largely based upon the seasonal conditions of Israel. Festivals (such as Shavuot) were first conceived of in Israel. In every Passover the words "next year in Jerusalem" are said. The Jews are descended from Israelis. As illustrated by the forementioned examples, Jewish history and culture are indeed very intimately connected with Israel. (See also my third reason for supporting Zionism in light of this fourth reason.)

Damn, we got a live one here!
"2. Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism
This being the case, that Zionism is about ending the oppression of Jews, and that the Jews are in fact oppressed, it follows that anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism. For it is clear that any man who is opposed to ending the oppression of Jews is an anti-Semite, whether he know it or not."
You need to have a chat with the Sulzbergers over at the NY Times.
I am a Zionist because God gave the Jews, His Chosen People, the land of Israel.
Other factors may be nice, but that is enough for me.

What we have here, is a failure to communicate.
Ha Ha, In Before The ZOT!
You can spell Kim Jong Il, but can't spell believe?
Back to basics boy. BTW ... who do you like the Steelers, or Denver?
OHHH PLUEEEZE.
Anti-zionism is anti-semitism... as an article of dogma, without any supporting arguments?
Might I calmly suggest that I can in fact support the rights of Jewish people everywhere w/o supporting the rights of the most extreme elements of Zionism? In fact, isn't that the same position that most citizens of Israel take?
Jeez.
>Ha Ha, In Before The ZOT!
I think I'm too...in before the Zot.
>I beileve (sic) that Kim Jong-il's definition of a nation is correct.
So does OBL.
Interesting that you posted this on a saturday...before sundown.
I am in full support of Israel. I just dont see why you need to post this on FreeRepublic. Most of us if not the vast majority of us are for Israel. Not in the sense that we would go and fight for them of course (being Americans we are for America over all) but we are happy they are there, because they are with us in the war on terror, and they are good partners in trade.
I agree that the Jews have been opressed in the past, but today they have their own society in which they face no opression for being Jews. They are the target of undue terrorism, and have had more then their fair share of suicide bombers, but they are the only non-Arab nation in the Arab penensula. It can be expected.
I know my pentetuch enough to know that yes, those are the lands promised by God to the Israeli people. However you own them. They belong to you, and no one else. It makes no sense to go and wave around the opression flag when you have your own land and your own country. It kinda makes everyone else look at you and laugh.
As a person of reason and reality, not a philosopher (I couldnt resist the joke) I cant really comment on the Juche Philosophy, but I do call into question your site of Kim Jong Il's defintion of a country. If we go with his definitions, then we must also accept that America is evil. I certainly hope that you dont believe that. The dictator of N. Korea also calls his rule just, and we know thats quite simply not true.
It seems to me that you are making a plea for that which Jews alread have. I'm going to make a guess that you are a Jew, and live in the United States. I dont understand why you are spouting on an American site. If you want to have a good number of people read this then put it on a Jewish site, not here.
Do not misunderstand my criticism as a slight against you or the Jewish people. I am most definitly for the Jews and their anti-terror policies. Especially the way that the Iranian nuclear powerplant was taken care of. I just dont understand the purpose for posting this stuff here.
I'm surprised that I wrote all that before the ZOT.
Please let me know if you want ON or OFF my Viking Kitty/ZOT ping list!. . . don't be shy.
Dang...missed again...
Enjoy your paving. It will go on forever.
Just d@mn
That was a fast ZOT!
I'm pretty sure you're not logged on.
