PORN-AGAIN STAR (actor Stephen Baldwin, born-again Christian, acts against nabe sex shop)

PEEPIN' STEPHEN: Stephen Baldwin, a born-again Christian, plans to snap photos of license plates of people going into a Nyack store once it's a sex shop, then publicize their names. Photo: Djamilla Rosa/WireImage.com

Actor Stephen Baldwin has his shorts in a bunch over a sex shop opening near his estate in Rockland County.....

The least-known of the Baldwins, Stephen, a born-again Christian, parked himself outside the Route 59 location in Nyack and took snapshots of construction workers walking in and out of the building.

Once the smut shop opens in a few months, the 39-year-old star of "The Usual Suspects" plans to photograph patrons' license plates and run their names in the local newspaper to shame them from ever returning.

His beef is that the store is within a quarter-mile of the community's residential area. "This is a thoroughfare that I drive by many, many times as do college kids, mothers with their children," Baldwin said.

He said he and other residents protested at Nyack planning-board meetings and asked the owner, Quintus Algama of Hollis, Queens, to choose a more distant location, but he wouldn't listen.

In addition to selling sex toys and porn, the shop will also feature video booths where patrons can watch hardcore flicks in total privacy.

"These guys want to do this business, God bless 'em. That's between them and God. They'll have to deal with that for eternity. But the people of Nyack do not want this location where it is," Baldwin said.

Baldwin said he's already enlisted the help of dozens of students of nearby Nyack College who'll be at the store the day it opens to protest.

If he can bring attention to the cause of removing a little scum from the neighborhood, I wish him luck.

If I am near Nyack, I'd love to walk into the store with the missus and walk out with a long, thick, veined love-toy and pose for Stephen. Then I'd have my wife take a picture of me next to Stephen while holding the toy.

The store should really incorporate him into their advertising. "Come on down to the 'Palace of Love' and be greeted by one of the Baldwins!"

What residential area?

Did you read the article? It's within 1/4 mile of a residential area.

"You see nothing unchristian about harrasment and intimidation?"

As I stated, I see nothing unChristian about what he is doing. In fact, scripture says that darkness will flee the light, so I say, shine all the light on it you can.

If there's nothing wrong with what the 'customers' of this 'shop' are doing, then it's no big deal if they get their picture taken and their name in an ad. If there is something wrong with it, then it's a good thing they are getting their picture taken and their name listed in an ad.

So what's your take on it? Is going into a porn shop good or bad?

That sign should be outside of Paris Hilton's house.

Stephen is about to learn that he is not empowered to 'shame' other people.

As Ezra Taft Benson once remarked:

"-- I hold that the Constitution denies government the power to take from the individual either his life, liberty, or property except in accordance with moral law;
-- that the same moral law which governs the actions of men when acting alone is also applicable when they act in concert with others;
-- that no citizen or group of citizens has any right to direct their agent, the government to perform any act which would be evil to the conscience if that citizen were performing the act himself outside the framework of government.

Baldwin has no 'right' to shame his peers over porn. -- Nor does government.

You see nothing unchristian about harrasment and intimidation? If that is the case then I suggest you might want to revisit your Bible.

Yeah, let's see what John the Baptist had to say about it.

IMO, moral vigilanties harrassing people who patronize legal businesses are should be held in contempt. He should work to change the laws if he is that concerned about what others do in their lives.

LOL Yeah, if old John were around today, some of the folks on FR would say he was 'harrassing and intimidating', and was behaving in a most unChristian fashion.

By your reasoning pro-life demonstrators outside of abortion clinics aren't empowered to voice their pro-life views,in said locations.

By your quotes, are you contending that Baldwin is taking the "life, liberty or property" of porn customers by snapping and publishing their pictures? What is he doing that any papparazzi wouldn't do?

Kudos for Stephen Baldwin. My respect for him grows even more.

Exactly. I agree completely with Mr. Baldwin on this matter. Porn is a cancer on our society and leads to alot of child sex abuse.
