PEEPIN' STEPHEN: Stephen Baldwin, a born-again Christian, plans to snap photos of license plates of people going into a Nyack store once it's a sex shop, then publicize their names. Photo: Djamilla Rosa/WireImage.com
Actor Stephen Baldwin has his shorts in a bunch over a sex shop opening near his estate in Rockland County.....
The least-known of the Baldwins, Stephen, a born-again Christian, parked himself outside the Route 59 location in Nyack and took snapshots of construction workers walking in and out of the building.
Once the smut shop opens in a few months, the 39-year-old star of "The Usual Suspects" plans to photograph patrons' license plates and run their names in the local newspaper to shame them from ever returning.
His beef is that the store is within a quarter-mile of the community's residential area. "This is a thoroughfare that I drive by many, many times as do college kids, mothers with their children," Baldwin said.
He said he and other residents protested at Nyack planning-board meetings and asked the owner, Quintus Algama of Hollis, Queens, to choose a more distant location, but he wouldn't listen.
In addition to selling sex toys and porn, the shop will also feature video booths where patrons can watch hardcore flicks in total privacy.
"These guys want to do this business, God bless 'em. That's between them and God. They'll have to deal with that for eternity. But the people of Nyack do not want this location where it is," Baldwin said.
Baldwin said he's already enlisted the help of dozens of students of nearby Nyack College who'll be at the store the day it opens to protest.

Hey I done larned a thin' er 2 from Jeff Foxworthy.
I asked this question earlier of a poster and got a bizarre answer. Let me ask you the same question.
Suppose, for example, the adult business owner calls an accountant to come to the business for consulting and this accountant later finds his photo on some website or paper implying that he is immoral for visiting this business. Who is going to explain this to his family, friends, or clients who do not know he was only there for business? Suppose you were that accountant. What would you do?
So WHAT? Is it illegal to go shopping?
I think it's a good idea. It will at least provide a record of the perverts that frequent the area....just in case....
Having a business owner come to the accountants office is bizarre?! Do you think accountants drive from business to business? Holy cow get a grip!
You keep saying this. What makes you think this? A pictutre is worth a thousand words. No "implying" needed.
I would hope that I would never get that desperate for business. If that was my client--I'd make them come to my office. No...forget I said that. YUK!
"If you're beating someone on the sidewalk and your pic is taken in the act, you can't file a civil suit."
If you are beating someone on the sidewalk, you could be arrested for assault. The person taking a picture of this would be taking a picture of a factual event. This is not the same as deliberately tainting someone as immoral or of bad character which would be actionable in a court of law.
Patronizing a legal business is not against the law. If a person buys condoms in an adult store or at Walmart, is he to be held up to public ridicule for being immoral or of bad charcter?
"They can't sue because they are in public."
So, you are saying people can't be sued or sue when they are in public??
That's stalking.
His family probably already knows who his clients are.
If he's a pretty clean guy his friends and clients will believe him when he says he was there for business.
I'd be working toward getting better clients myself.
See why don't go to Nyack anymore?
Oh.... THAT'S stalking!!!
Thanks!
No one goes to Nyack anymore - it's too crowded!
I have no idea why that would be bizarre!
Well, what would you do if you were that accountant?
What you might do personally is not the question. Why is it so hard to understand the question? I suspect you won't answer that question in a direct manner as your answer would validate my argument. Give it a try, though.
Taking a picture of someone entering a business is a FACTUAL EVENT.
This is not the same as deliberately tainting someone as immoral or of bad character which would be actionable in a court of law.
Publishing a picture of someone entering a store is a factual and PUBLIC event. No explanation with the pic is needed.
Patronizing a legal business is not against the law.
No it's not but you keep saying it IS " tainting someone as immoral or of bad character " showing a public pic of them entering or leaving that store. So you must believe that it's immoral to frequent a porn shop.
If a person buys condoms in an adult store
When they are available at WalMart (as you pointed out) or a drug store, why go to a porn shop? Must be another reason, eh?
So, you are saying people can't be sued or sue when they are in public??
People cannot sue for a pic of them taken in public.
Golly gee!
That's what the internet is for,
you know,
plain wrapper,
respectable looking return address....
huh,
what'ya lookin' at?
Oh yeah, sorry. That's stalking too.
I put mine on my List to Santa.
Works every year....
Gotcha....
