Brokeback Mountain Claims Big Four At The Golden Globes
Critically-acclaimed western Brokeback Mountain cleaned up at the Golden Globe Awards last night by claiming four top honors.
The controversial film, which has been banned from some cinemas for its gay themes, took home Best Movie (Drama), Best Screenplay and Best Song prizes at the 63rd annual Golden Globe Awards, while Ang Lee picked up the night's Best Director honor from his hero Clint Eastwood.
And there were triple celebrations for Johnny Cash biopic Walk the Line when Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix claimed the acting honors in the Comedy/Musical movie category and the film picked up the Best Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical) prize.
The win cost Phoenix dear, however - he bet Witherspoon's husband Ryan Phillippe he wouldn't win a Golden Globe. The Crash star demanded payment as his pal took to the stage at the Beverly Hilton hotel.
Meanwhile, there was a big upset for the stars of Desperate Housewives during the night's TV awards - all four Best Actress nominees from the show lost out to Mary Louise Parker, who plays a marijuana-selling desperate housewife on cable show Weeds.
But the stars of the hit show didn't miss out on a Best TV Show award - they scooped the coveted prize from Weeds, Curb Your Enthusiasm, My Name is Earl, Entourage and Everybody Hates Chris - and the show's Felicity Huffman claimed the night's Best Actress (Drama) movie award for her role as a transgender man in Transamerica.
The big TV winner was acclaimed mini-series Empire Falls, which claimed two honors - Best Actor (Paul Neuman) and Best Miniseries/TV Movie.
The full list of awards is:

They did *that* a loooong time ago. They have since proceeded to "jump the orca"...
the infowarrior
Exactly. And what that accomplishes is that most unknowing in attendance leave the viewing with questions as to the credulity of their definitions of very basic, primal things, like "decency," "romance," "fidelity," "betrayal" and far more.
The film's marketed as "a love story" and the MSM is an active propogandist in this process, given the greater population of homosexuals employed in the "arts and media."
Unfortunately for the arts and media and our culture.
They mislead people into the theatres by process of seductive ("it's a luuuve story!", it's "heroic", etc.) images and theatrics, then present the actual things themselves on screen as heroic while they are actually the antithesis of heroism: deceit, abuse, sexual perversions, adultery, betrayals, even of all things, slovenliness and financial corruption -- the two principles can't even provide a decent day's work for their pay and abuse the expectations of even a lower level type of 'employment' for purposes of engaging in corrupt acts.
Thus, outside the homosexually committed, others are hooked into the theatre under theatrical false pretense, assuming they'll see heroics and are instead shown the counter of that. Homosexuals use this process quite frequently to solicit and elicit sympathy. False piety and victimization are their modus operandi.
Hmmm...it's my experience that for every sin, there are hundreds if not thousands or more apologists for the sin.
I don't read "hate" on this "forum" -- I read disgust at the sin and for those who fascilitate sin by way of apologizing for those who engage in it, if not continue to proliferate and encourage the sin itself.
Sorry, but your attempts to chastise "Christians" for "hate" falls so short as to be sin itself.
Pia Zadora, a name I haven't heard about in a long time
i never did watch that movie... is that from the 80's?
And it was widely stated that her award was bought and paid for by her wealthy husband. Just like the Brikeback Mountain awards were bought and paid for before the flick was even released.
I don't, but there was a line of text from the author that was attached to the list I posted.
Very much agreed.
Absolutely. The answer is to replace bad with good.
Did anyone notice the comments by Dennis Quaid when he was giving out one of the awards???
What did Dennis Quaid say? Don't keep me in suspence.
Yes, I heard about that - - these two "guys" prefer sheep to cows. Well, that's their orientation, I guess.
Cowboys are cowboys and sheep herders are sheep herders, that's all. If they didn't do enough research to get that much straight, I would imagine the rest is a total loss.
[...rhymes with chick flick...]
Thanks. I like Dennis Quaid. At
least this keeps him on my good
guy list for now.
I thought some media outlet would have picked up on the comment, but it appears they chose to ignore it.
I like your "about" page. My Mother used to listen to talk radio when you had to whisper "Bircher". I was weaned on a transister radio (remember those?). Mother would fall asleep with it plugged into her ear. My friends thought she was nuts. Turned out she was right, as in CORRECT about the liberal assault on democracy. I may be a bit older than you. I was on the California Republican State Central Committee in 1972... right out of High School.
Ignoring it certainly would be easier. But in this particular case it wouldn't change a thing. Furthermore, they will only shove their agenda down our throats all the more.
How is it being shoved down your throat? Where is all this throat shoving taking place? Are people being forced to watch this particular movie?

They say don't go on Brokenbutt Mountain
We must warn you if you're straight
You'll see Heath Ledger and a momma's boy sissy
What they are doing, will make you regurgitate
Heath says his lips are sweeter than honey
Friends, Brokenbutt Mountain will make you ill
It may just surprise you...up on that mountain
What they've learned to do with a rope
If you get stuck...up on Brokenbutt Mountain
Let's hope your missus learns to cope
What were you thinking...and why did you chance it
Then in the shower, you bent over for the soap
Heath says his lips are sweeter than honey
Friends, Brokenbutt Mountain will make you ill
You must heed our warning...don't let them trap you
They will do things that make you freak
You won't go back to Brokenbutt Mountain
And you might not walk for a week
The rainbow flag flies on top that mountain
From behind you, they really like to sneak
Heath says his lips are sweeter than honey
Friends, Brokenbutt Mountain will make you ill
The Hollywood crowd has revered that mountain
And the lifestyle they celebrate
They just keep shoving it down our throats
And they will keep pushing their agenda
If you go pay and see their movies
You will underwrite their agenda
If you haven't figured it out yet
It's about their gay agenda
If you pay and go see their movies
You have helped fund the gay agenda
If you pay and go see their movies
You have helped fund the gay agenda
