You've heard of the dog who ate homework, but what about the cat who unplugged the alarm clock? These days, people are getting very creative when they don't want to go to work.
In CareerBuilder's survey "Out of the Office," more than one-third of U.S. workers say they played hooky from work over the last twelve months. Thirty-five percent of workers admit to calling in sick when they felt well at least once during the last year and one-in-ten said they did so three or more times.
Why are they calling in sick? The top three motivators for faking include attending to personal errands and appointments, catching up on sleep and simply relaxing. The reasons also include attending a child's event, bad weather, making plans with friends and going on a job interview.

Well my dad likes to remind us that he has been working since age 10....
Duh. Why waste a day off of work being sick?
Let me guess.
He walked two miles through 4 feet of snow everyday to make 75cents per day.....
He worked at the same place my Dad did.
My boss reminded me my sick time doesn't roll over, so I might want to come down with an occasional cough or sore throat toward the end of the fiscal year.
I almost called in "sick" today, just so I could stay home and amp up for the next 2 hours of "24".
It appears they did work at the same place! maybe walked in that same snow storm as well....;)
Warm sunshine makes me sick. In fact, (cough,cough) I am feeling a little...cough.....
You don't want to hear your stupid boss lecture you on how many pieces of flair you should wear.
The voices are telling me to stay home and clean my gun collection.

It was pretty traumatic. I wouldn't want to be counter productive you know.
