Get plenty of rope, and maybe in two or three long pieces. Then we can tie it down several times and give it some extra stability.

You can cut rope. ;-) So one big roll should be enough.

Suzi's right...I may need to fuse the ends with a lighter or some such. You know, come to think of it, the rope my brother's used for building various things in scouting was probably just the sort of rope I need. It was nylon, I think. Not super heavy, but strong and easy to work with. They used to have bits of it all over the house for practicing knots.
