Bike: remove the front tire and put it in the back.

Cats: Play some music, talk to them and shoo them away from your feet. They should calm down and find a place to nap after a little while. If they get in the way, start the van, play the radio and stay parked until they settle into some place out of the way. Take a small supersoaker and put it in a cup holder if you are really worried about them getting under foot or on the dashboard (I know Tam is 'smack resistant'). Take them on a few drives between now and when you go to get them use to the idea.

Whoa...

Just got in from taking the jedis to the park. As we were walking up, we heard this BANG, but nothing more. So the kids went on to run around in the park and this lady and I sat and visited. Pretty soon, we see across the field at the road a fire truck coming, sirens going. So we both agree the bang we heard must have been a car accident...no squealing tires, though...

Pretty soon there was three fire trucks...the last one didn't have it's siren going though.

So we watched for a while, then we see a couple walking their dog coming from the general direction of the accident. They stopped and talked to us and said that a pickup truck had hit a motorcyclist and that the motorcyclist had been thrown up into the air and had flipped up over the truck. I don't know if this is true, but they seemed to know what happened.

What I do know is that they hauled a pickup off in the back of a flatbed truck and eventually all the emergency workers left and not one siren was sounded when they left.

*snicker*

Yeah, he'd enjoy that. Trouble is, Halvah is water resistant. I can spray her right in the face and she just blinks.

So maybe keeping them in the carrier but making fairly frequent stops is best. Though I could try seeing how they do if I start the car and just sit for awhile. That's not a bad idea.
