The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Though...we're very slightly lower. Maybe that makes all the difference.

Well, never woke up under a table, but I did manage to spark discussions involving prime ministers and police.

Gooooooooooooooooood morning! It's almost Fri-day. It's almost Fri-day. I need a weee-kend. I need a weee-kend.

AI was hilarious - I'm still grinning. Some of those folks are so sad. It breaks my heart that all those young people grew up hearing mommy say, "You're the best! You're better than everyone else." when the reality is those were cruel, cruel lies.

Big'ol picked up the new Bo Bice CD. Having just listened to it, let me just say that I can imagine every one of those tunes playing in my dentist's office. There's no heft, no edge, no anthem, no arena, no big and bold, nada. Pass the bubblegum. :(

I had to wonder how they'd be best used, though! I mean...the shape of the regular ones makes it easy to do fried zucchini slices. Dunno how the round ones would work out!

Supposedly they're great for stuffing, tho I have yet to find a stuffed zuch recipe that really appeals to me. They slice up just fine, though if you want the smaller pieces you can slices the slices into wedges. I ran most of mine through the food processor and shredded them for frying and baked goods.

Good morning everyone!

LF - Yeah, it is so sad to see such deluded folks. But I'm even sadder to hear that Bo Bice's CD was such a disappointment. I was really looking forward to getting it since I was such a big fan of his last season. :-(

And as for Zachary...

Gotta try some new buttons in the Jeep today. Maybe figure out how ~not~ to hang up on people? *smirk*

BTW, I think you should call her Maggie - as in Thatcher.

Classy, but tough - and full of good advice. :-D

I don't know why I laughed so hard when I saw this picture, but I did.

Arrested for flashing a kid at WalMart. Looks like the cops gave him something to think about on the way to the station.

I may have had unrealistic expectations for it. But considering the bulk of the AI audience is teenage and the machine is geared toward pop, the result is understandable. Pop with artificial rock flavor. But teens like a lot of stuff with artifical flavorings and colors.

I was disappointed with Kelly's first album too. I like it better now than I did back then - but her Breakaway album is much better BY FAR!

Here's hoping the same rule will apply to Bo Bice.
