New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, |

Still round the corner there may wait |

Home is behind, the world ahead, |
Thanks, folks! I'm ridiculously nervous...spent the night dreaming about the job in odd contexts (it was a used toy store in one, as an example), and waking up suddenly 'cause I was afraid I'd oversleep or something.
Hope I remember how to do this...
You'll be great. By noon you'll feel like you've been working there for weeks.
You'll do great! Make sure you break something on your first day! It'll make for a good story later.
:-)
Uh...thanks, I think...
The bad thing about breaking things there is that they are customer systems, not company systems. Gonna take me awhile to wrap my head around that...can't just swap parts out if something goes wrong, as a general rule.
Good morning!
This has been a hard week! Missed my Mom's Night Out for the first time this year because Steve wasn't home. Plus I had meetings to go to which I had to bring the jedis with me for the same reason. Plus I got my teeth cleaned and again had to bring them with me and my jaw is STILL sore!
I'm so glad I don't have anything planned for today!
Just got off the phone with "Ma"....Steve's mother. She asked if March would be a good time to visit. I said "Sure, but there's a good chance Steve could graduate in May..."
So now she's coming down in May!
We haven't seen her in a few years! (We talk on the phone pretty frequently.)
yeow... check out the traffic drama up here... what a mess it is out there...

Ugh. 405 is just a nightmare.
Just make sure you park straight. :)
You don't usually take your teeth with you when you get them cleaned?
Heh...my first job out of college I worked as a lab assistant for a consulting engineering firm (I've got stories about collecing outflow samples that you just don't want to hear.)
I left just before I was eligible for vacation time, so I didn't get that week's pay. I joked that I'd just break it in lab glassware.
When I (accidentally, I swear) broke a $300 piece of equipment, I pretty well had that covered.
Ha ha ha!
Hopefully I won't ever have to take my teeth with me in a cup when I go to get them cleaned...the hygienist said they were in good shape, but I don't believe her. They may be healthy but I need a root canal in a bad way and I actually chipped the front one a couple of months ago and if I'm not careful it'll cut my lip on the inside!
I actually haven't seen the dentist in years, just the hygienist...she cleans them and sends me on the way every six months. They're less than a mile away, however and I don't have anything I have to pay out of pocket. And it's fast.
Back from the meeting!
Still snowing?
hehehehe....nerves are normal.
Can't wait to hear how it went once you get back home tonight!
Mornin' 2J!
*suddently remembers to call dentist for Becky's appt*
Nope... It just snowed a little dusting sometime during the night. Looks like there's a little more up in the hills.
Still chilly here, around 30. Clear blue sky...
Traffic's a mess out there.
Well... if you could put them in a cup, you could just put them in the dishwasher and clean 'em yerself. :-)
What there probably is out there is black ice. Looks like conditions were right for it earlier.
*shudder*
(Still praying for the home office plan.)
It's pretty much gone once the sun comes up. Mostly. Shady spots can still be a little interesting.
Rule No. 1: Stay on the sunny side of the street. :-)
Grab your coat and get your hat
Leave your worries on the doorstep
Life can be so sweet
On the sunny side of the street
Cant you hear the pitter-pat
And that happy tune is your step
Life can be complete
On the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade with my blues on parade
But Im not afraid...this rover's crossed over
If I never had a cent
Id be rich as rockefeller
Gold dust at my feet
On the sunny side of the street
I used to walk in the shade with them blues on parade
Now Im not afraid... this rover has crossed over
Now if I never made one cent
I'll still be rich as rockefeller
There will be goldust at my feet
On the sunny
On the sunny, sunny side of the street
