Heh... those incantations can be tricky. Every IT department needs a full time witch doctor.
"Oh, I see you have ~that~ problem with your laptop... go down the hall, last office on the left, look for the dude with the bone through his nose..."
:-)
I don't get this goat thing. Maybe I didn't read enough of the thread....
There's an old running joke from mainframes, then Netware days... about there being a line in the procedure about sacrificing a goat to get the system to boot up. :-)
Do you think a goat sacrifice could get rid of that script error on my home PC?
Aaaah. Before my time, then.
No, for script errors I think you have to shake a chicken foot over it.
Doh! I shoulda thought of that.
Now, what am I gonna do with all these goats?
The Fish and Wildlife guy came back today... asking if we knew the name or description of the handyman dude. The name the landlord gave him didn't match any records... and we never knew his name.
Well, I have a picture... in really high resolution, of him loading garbage into his truck. The F&W guy said "THAT'S THE STUFF THAT WAS DUMPED!" looking at the picture on my screen. And... 2J... when I showed him the picture he said "God bless you!" So he's a religous man ;~D Forgot to look for a ring. The F&W guy said it's become a mission for him to find this guy and get him to clean it up.
Rosie also had a note and number left by a guy who wanted to buy his truck that's in the picture (it had a for sale sign on it)
We gave him both the picture, and the note from the guy who wanted to buy the truck. Haven't talked to the landlord about it, I hope he wanted us to help this investigation, and I hope he really doesn't know the guy's real name and was not just being uncooperative. I'm apprehensive about bad feelings from either of them if they track him down and make him clean it up. I'm having the locks changed on her place today, in case the handyman had a key.
What if he dumps it back in the yard. LOL (erp)
I bad...
Garbage Gate
So. Religious. Unknown marital status. Ballpark on his age?
It's a bust.... Rosie saw a ring...
Well phooey.
You're not bad, you're good at scoping out situations ;-) Rings are awfully handy that way.
Well, I'm back from the job interview...
This is a job for a local computer shop. They mostly do computer clean-up and repair for local businesses and individuals. They also do some network installation and build computers. It looks to be a very busy place, and the kinda work I like. Pay isn't great, but it will be raised to what I was makin' at the college, and I have fewer expenses here, so...not bad.
It's a casual, family owned little place - the guy that owns it is also the networking guy, and his daughter was the one who interviewed me. And she liked me. She wants me to meet with him briefly, but she did say he had selected my resume out of the others and told her to get me in there for an interview ASAP as I sounded like just what they wanted. So...she said if he agrees with her, I've got the job, and they want me to start Friday. Eek! So this may very well be it!!!
I never wear my ring... I take it off to do things like clean stalls or work outside, so I forget to put it back on for weeks on end sometimes.
This is just fascinating!!
I hope your cooperation doesn't leave the landlord in the crosshairs. EEK!
But it would be the handyman's fault anyway in the end since he's the one that did the illegal dumping.
Good idea re: the locks.
*happy dance*
Rosie! I'm ~stuned~ with glee!!!!
