Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Plus they're usually easy to grow from seed, making them one of the cheapest flowers to grow.
I want to put a bunch in the back by the little patio, too!

She got distracted Googling up pics of Tom Selleck.
To: RMDupree
This is ~Jack Bauer~ we're talking about!Yeah, but the people around him (innocent bystanders especially) tend to get shot at, gassed, etc., etc.

Evening!
I'm going to take a hot soak. My back is stove up.
But first I gotta haul out Matthew's iMac so he can play Galactic Battlegrounds on it. That oughta really help my stove up back. Heh.

Okay, so today I get a call from a recruiter. He
thinks he
maybe has a job for me. Similar kind of work --- telephone helpdesk for a company that handles IT for small companies.
I may now be in a bit of a dilemma ...

It would be better than your current job, then? Or pretty much the same?

<staring at you, open-mouthed>
The words "Magnum P. I." mean nothing to you?
I feel ... faint!
<fanning self>
You don't know Higgins? "The lads?" T. C. and Rick, whose real name was Orville?
Hawaii????
Mercy!

So...the rule should be, if you see Jack Bauer - RUN!
Don't bother ducking. LOL!

It's a TV show?
We didn't have TV...I pretty well missed any TV shows during the 80s and early 90s, even those I woulda been old enough to watch much.
To: RosieCotton
Better ... more money. More time before I go perm, but more money when I do go perm ...
To: RMDupree
I'm tempted to say, if you *see* Jack Bauer, it's too late to run...
To: Bear_in_RoseBear
HA! You'd be right though.

And if you see Jack Bauer running through a crowded mall carrying a gun and wearing a gas mask, run faster!

The tricky thing is finding time to go for an interview when you're already working. :-/
Man. It's always feast or famine, isn't it?
