Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

They were the most affordable and convenient in all of the estimates I received.
I guess the only downside is my stuff may take a couple of extra days to get there (than the other places quoted). But since I plan on living out of suitcase for a week anyway, it isn't that big of a deal.

Sorry for the lack of pings and announcements... if you aren't going to read the thread on weekends you're going to miss a few minidramas!
Sounds like all is on track for Steve's school stuff... good!
- we're going this morning to a 50% off sale at the thrift store... :~D

I gotta buy a new VCR. Matthew's VCR has gone out on his TV/VCR combo. Keeps eating the tape, then spitting it out and shutting off. I gotta use a chopstick to get it all loose from the inside mechanism.

Oh man. Same thing happened to the one we had. :-(
Destroyed two Wiggles tapes before I finally accepted that it was dead.

Ummm...maybe you should put Jen in charge of the childrenI think we're planning on the "if there's no blood, there's no problem" method of child rearing... much less stressful on both of us.
I got back in time for class! It was a mad dash and I was thirty seconds late. And all my luggage is still in the car and I fell off the parking shuttle and hurt my ankle, but otherwise no problem. I'm a little tired but all my classmates were up all night finishing the homework assignment so nobody noticed.

Oh! And FWIW, the "no blood, no problem" method isn't a bad way to deal with childrearing.
Works for me. At least, most of the time. *grin*

We have that episode. LOL! Karateboy loves it!

Woohooo! My front door finally opens for the first time in 3 days!
The ice is starting to melt, but everything is still white. White ground, white sky...very monotonous.
I can't even see my garden...it's under a couple of inches of ice and snow, under the row covers.
~sigh~

You got snow, huh? Is it going to get warm again right away? The snow could have insulated your plants and if it just warms up and the snow melts, maybe no harm done.
Hmm... wonder what else happened this weekend that I missed.
