Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,

So, I went on the interview yesterday. It's with a tech support outsourcing company here in Austin, providing 24x7 Level 1 tech support for WorldWideDeliveryCompany. I get to support not only their computer woes, but their printers, their bar code scanners, and even the load-balancing scales they use on their planes.
I parked out front so crookedly they asked me to go back and straighten up the car --- found out later the tales of my parking skills had been spread all over the company. <sigh>
I spoke to the lady for maybe fifteen minutes, babbled a bit, expressed my honest opinon, showed her how I troubleshoot, and left.
She apparently got on the phone as soon as I walked out of her cubicle and told the recruiter she wanted me.
So, I have a job. Thank you, Prayer Warriors!
I start Tuesday, and for next week, it's 8:30am - 5pm.

Ruthy, you have EXACTLY described my feelings about this job.
It's not programming, it's not writing. However:
- It doesn't stop me from modernizing my programming skills;
- It doesn't stop me from studying for the first test of my MCDBA;
- It doesn't stop me from writing my series of novels.
In fact, this job will facilitate all those things.
So ... there's that.
