The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Don't most guys admire their own? I thought it was a sort of a sensory art form.

Well, there's the matter of accomplishment. But when it's a true *art form, well...

I'll bet the pups on at Westminster have better grooming than the chicks on snowboards....

WooHoo!! Best of luck with the job interview. Yeah, you can answer interview questions all the way through Utah and Eastern Oregon! It should amuse the cats greatly.

Do you know what time you'll be arriving on Tuesday? You might just miss SirKit. I know he's planning to be at Hair and Ecurbh's early on Tuesday, but I don't know how long he was planning to stay.

Got long navy blue pleated skirt and nice navy plaid jacket. Got navy shoes? I bet they have nylons next door.

You're good to go ;~D

Heh...

Though in the car, it's Miss Halvah who's doing all the talking. Tam's been kinda subdued, poor baby. And his eye is acting up again.

I've got black shoes...that'd work, right? And I've got nylons.

Hope I can find the shoes! Toward the end of packing, we were throwing stuff in any which way...

Black would work fine. It's a geek interview anyway, not a fashion magazine, right ;~D

What size are your feet?

Oh, BTW, SirKit is bringing something for you. If he doesn't see you, he'll leave it with Hair and ecurbh.

What time is the interview? Is it early?

It depends on how early I start. I'm almost thinkin' of getting on the road at least by five thirty or so my time (CO time), which would be four thirty local time (soon to be my time) - that *might* get me in by nine or so, but probably it'll be more like lunchtime.

So I'll miss him, I think. Too bad - it'd be nice to have a mini-moot AND the start of a long term moot. ;-)

He gave me the choice of 2,3 or 4 PM. I went with 3...but I'm thinkin' maybe I should send another e-mail and say that any of those times would work, just in case he's already heard back from other candidates. Not sure how I'd word that, though.

Good. That's easier than trying to get started first thing, you'll have time to get unpacked.

You already picked a time... stick with it. Be decisive ;~D If it causes someone else a conflict, good for you :~D You don't want to accommodate the competition!

I wear 9s.

I suppose if navy would really look a lot better, I might be able to locate a Payless or Super Shoes (do you have those out here?) in the morning and run out. Bet I could find something really basic for even ten bucks or so, huh? Would involve *town*, though.
