The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Yummy! Boneless spareribs?

Little bit o' everything... egg rolls, almond chicken, fried prawns, chow mein, fried rice, wontons. And fortune cookies, of course.

Or a job for the gubmint...I know there are lots of downsides, but the pay is good, and so are the benefits.

But any decent job would be fantastic! ;-)

Crazy...sounds like it's not gonna take any time at all before I can move in. Lot of cleaning, but not much else.

Yeah - It's not gonna be bad at all when you get here. :~D

And that's good. It might have looked a little depressing and daunting if he'd left it as it was.

I'm still fretting a bit that he'll ask for rent before I'm ready to pay it.

Though...I suppose if that DID happen, I can't do much worse than the folks that had the place before...right?

Is that a very twisted way of remaining positive? Heh...

Was it the sutures? Did they figure out what went wrong?

I wouldn't mind being bored for a year or two...

It's no bad thing to celebrate a simple life.

I was inspired by the Microsoft post and so I went over and applied on their website.

You just never know, right?

Some of the sutures inside may have failed, they were going to have to go back in and fix it.

I'd like to have some of that for my feet in the winter. My heels are just awful when the house gets so dry from the forced hot air heating.

I've been having dreadful problems with my elbows, for some reason. They're so raw and chapped that they catch on my clothes. Owieowieowie!

I've just been applying lotion whenever I think of it, but it hasn't taken care of it. Also picked up some fish oil supplement thingies to see if that helps.

I suppose this will likely be less of a problem where I'm going! But...ow.

I had to use that on my hands a few years back.

My fingers just cracked open and bled from washing bottles.
