Excellent...that's all I'd need, really, most of the time!
I know we're kinda rushing the poor guy. I'm suppose it's better than the alternative, though!
Yep! For sure...
Looking forward to the majority of this drive. Most of it shouldn't be toooo near cities or anything, and it'll be far more scenic than the last drive. Should see plenty of mountains and hill country! Rather wish I could be passenger part of the time so's I could do more looking around, but I should see a lot of it.
Well doing it in 3 days you should have time to at least stop and take come pictures from time to time. We demand pictures! :D
I'm still trying to figure out where I'm gonna stop. Since I don't know these states, I'm just trying to pick towns along the way that look big enough for motels. And then, being as how I have the cats, I have to research each and every place.
I know I can just stop at Motel 6s, and I guess that's what I should do. They aren't fancy, but inexpensive is probably the major criteria right now.
Oh, come on, Queen of the Backgammon... you of all people to roll your eyes...
;-p
Oh, and don't forget to phone someone your location so we can reuse those 'Where in the World is RosieCotton' graphics. hehe
I don't know... Those little pieces might get caught in the jets... I think Backgammon in a hot tub might not be the best plan.
I just made a couple of banana nut breads for the jedis...'cept one of 'em is sans nuts...Joshua isn't a fan of the nuts.
Easy recipe!
Banana Nut Bread
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup white sugar
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 eggs
1 Cup mashed bananas (I used three medium bananas)
1/2 Cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour two 4x8" loaf pans. Set aside.
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Stir in nuts eggs, bananas, oil and vanilla.
Divide into prepared pans. Bake for 45-60 minutes. Cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes before removing from pans.
Ugh...hopefully if they do that, an updated image can be used!
I'm getting frustrated with this planning tool. Seems like most of the hotels aren't right off the interstate, or if they are, they don't allow pets and/or cost a bundle.
One time, on the way to visit his parents, Steve and I stayed in a hotel somewhere in Kansas I believe that was cheap but soooo awful! We got in the room and it had one of those beds where it had a wooden headboard that was actually bolted to the wall, you know?
It was just coated with pomade.
We left.
I think the dice would get lost and the board would get wet, so yeah. And dominoes wouldn't be much better. And anyway I haven't got a hot tub and so it doesn't really matter...
Ewwww!
Motel 6s are the cheapest places I've stayed. They're nothing fancy, but generally they're pretty clean.
But there don't seem to be as many of them on this side of the country. And the one near where I was planning to stop first is 9 miles away from the interstate I'll be on! That's not really practical.
I'm not good at devious, unfortunately. As devious as I get is that I told the folks at the Motel 6s, "I have a cat." Which is true. Technically, I have a cat. And another cat. You're only supposed to have one per room, but ah well.
My sister was horrified when I told her later that I'd done that. So I guess I'm not THE most namby-pamby in the family.
Yeah, Motel 6 is nice.
I'm off! Steve is gonna be home soon. I'll check back later, the jedis actually have RAs tonight!
I'm really, really sorry Jen...
He was in the pool!
*snort*
(wipes peanut butter sammich off the screen...)
ROFL!!
I don't know how you guys walk around with those things.
