The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

I'm thinking a medium teal with some purple accessories. Or maybe a deep cranberry with hunter accents.

Sure we do.

Towels, maybe a Christmas soap dish, but an entire tree!?

On the other hand, I've never had a bathroom big enough for a tree, and I suspect we'd all have to say the same.

I mean...if you COULD do it...maybe the normal rules no longer apply.

Maybe.

With a bathroom that big - you can paint it any color you like. :-D

I suppose worst case scenario is that I end up with a lot of the furnishings I'll need anyway, even if I don't stay there.

And just looking at other rental listings, I doubt I'll find anything at all close to that price range where I'd still get some land. That is a big bonus. Whether it's enough to outweigh what are some pretty major minuses remains to be seen. A lot will depend on how the landlord reacts to all this.

I dunno, chica.

Why would you have something with an electric current in a place that can topple over into the tub?

Might as well use hair dryers for ornaments. ;-)

Or toasters...

But I'm not sure it actually has lights.

And it's probably a VEY ritzy inn, right? So I suppose they go whole hog when it comes to decorating for the holidays...

Heh...could always go to Home Depot and learn how to lay tile.

Most of the fancier places do.

Oh, and Corin does too. ;-)

Heh...it needs a lot more than tile, unfortunately. Though that could help.

It'd be different if I was *buying* the place. Not that I'd really want to, but my motivations would be different. As they were when I bought my little house. Granted, I never got around to doing really any of the things I'd planned, but...

What's so strange about trees in the bathroom?

You can see the door if you look at the picture full size.
