The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Do you remember that movie "Up The Academy"?

The boys' school one, with Ralph Macchio?

...The dean would try to fish for ladies by walking up to them and saying "Tickle your ass with a feather?" And if the lady looked shocked and asked him what he said, he's say "Ah. Particularly nice weather!"

Reminded me of it. hehehehe....

WAtch Jackson's Frighteners too if you get a chance (but not with the kiddos around - its not child friendly) - it was actually quite good - it has Michael J Fox in it and Trini Alvarez

Doing good.

I really shouldn't be chit-chatting with so much work to do, but knowing I won't be out of here until late anyway....

Well, it kinda kills my productivity. ;-)

I saw your post about the Jeep last night.

Are you gonna get the light khaki one? What else does it have that you didn't want, besides the DVD player?

Morning! Back from church.

That street wasn't too bad, by the way. Lotta four way stops, but pretty near no traffic, which made up for that.

Anytime I'm up early enough for church I can drop you off, if'n you're headed up there that early.

Ah, the joys of being on-hold...used to be one company - Gateway? - that had the WORST music on earth as their hold music. Well...not as bad as Mr. Beepy's, but I don't think his counts as music.

After ten or fifteen minutes of that, my brain would practically be mush by the time I got to speak to a real person.

That's the big thing. It's also got the chrome wheels, which are OK, but are not OK enough for what they want for them. The regular wheels look fine.

Ackk. It's such an obnoxious process.
