Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

I'm gonna see if I can pack the van at least as efficiently, so I should be able to fit a lot of stuff in. I'm just a packrat...so I still have books I picked up four booksales ago that I can easily get from the library.
To: RosieCotton
I see.
What furniture, if any will you be bringing? I'm trying to have an idea which things you'll be needing when you get here.

Can't fit any furniture other than the air mattress, so I'll be starting from scratch. I figure I can pick up most stuff at Goodwill or via Craig's List or other classifieds.
I can leave a lot of stuff in boxes until I have a place to put 'em.

OK - so you'll need a desk-table or both, a couch and chairs, lamps, end tables coffee tables, bookshelves, a dresser..
I was gonna give you the twin bed out of the spare room. We've got two other rollaways to use for guests, and it's a little more permanent than a air mattress.
Ramius, can you put your Oak table back together and loan it to Rosie for the time bein'?

You guys are wayyyy too nice to me. ;-)
I should have *a* lamp, if I can fit it into the van. It's one of those ones that have three heads - looks like Medusa. But it really lights up a room. I figure I'll put that in the living room and get another for the bedroom. It wasn't pricey.
To: Overtaxed
yeah.

It's one of those ones that have three heads - looks like Medusa. We'll keep that in mind when making other decor decisions. ;~D
