The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Heh... I had a bagel but only finished that fifteen minutes ago so the diet is safe.

Either yellow or green.

I couldn't find it in the fridge. I *think* the company was something kinda dorky, like "House of Thai", but I don't remember exactly. It's a pretty tiny jar. Would be in the Asian section near soy sauce and all that, most likely, if they did have it.

Oh dear...

Looks like he's awfully interested in the Dr. Pepper. As if he needs caffeine...

One of my cats *did* get stuck in the fridge years ago - Cinders, not either of my current cats. Luckily with as many of us as there are, it got opened not *too* long after, but he was mighty chilly, poor baby.

I hate waiting for stuff to happen...this is gonna be a rough day like that.

The lady should be here within the next hour, so at least that'll be over with. Then to start getting ready for the interview and all...

And the cats are being thoroughly evil. Did you hear them early this morning? Ugh. I don't know *what* their problem is. I cornered Tam this morning and yelled at him, but they went right back to tearing around screaming after I went to bed. I don't think I really slept after about three.

Oh dear...that *would* be bad! Ouch!

We used to have one that'd sleep in the dryer if anyone ever left the door open. He's lucky nothing ever happened to him!

Ugh... Halvah wanted attention when I got up but I ignored her. I had some really disturbing kinds of dreams last night and didn't feel rested but I don't remember hearing the cats.

Heh...did any of your dreams involve my using the word h*ll? 'Cause I think I used it on Tam this morning. It's all kinda vague.

Beast.

No, you weren't in them at all. They were very vague, disjointed, worrying dreams involving my family.

I prefer the random action-adventures I usually get.

Joshua had a banana and a bowl of cheerios in whole milk for breakfast. Then just now, for a snack, he had a spoonful of peanut butter and a cup of half milk half heavy cream chocolate milk. For lunch, I plan "shrimp poppers" with tarter sauce, carrot slices with blue cheese dip and cup of pudding and a glass of water.

For supper, it'll be chicken...don't know if it'll be the curry chicken...probably be chicken and rice in some other kind of cream sauce...and broccoli.

He already looks better, with just a couple of days of eating every couple of hours or so and lots of water to help hydrate him. I swear, with the vomiting week before last and the runny nose last weekend, he had terrible skin texture...it was just so dry!

Mine mostly revolved around problems whilst ordering pizza. Very strange. And my youngest brother was here.

In other news, that auction ends today. Need to get a box.

And no, I will not be putting that box in another box or mailing it to myself or any of that stuff...

Mmmm...it all sounds good to me, too!

Unfortunately I need to *lose* weight, not gain it. ;-) I'm just about where I was last summer, but...still wouldn't mind dropping another ten or so.

There is a company called Temple of Thai online that sells curry paste.

I was curious about not being able to find it, and looked on the online site for Albertson's. It doesn't list any curry pastes.. just the dry mix. Hmm. Tried Kroger, Tom Thumb, Whole Foods... I am at a loss 2J. What are the grocery stores in your area other than Albertson's?

Albertson's was where we shopped when I lived up there eons ago, but I cannot even remember there being other stores. Surely there were!

I'm guessing they don't list anywhere near everything on their on-line site. Whole Foods is a good suggestion - bet they'd have it if the regular grocery didn't.

Whole Foods is a dangerous place for me. I love tea, good coffee, dark chocolate, unusual salsas...etc. We had a small natural foods store at home, but nothing like that!

Still waiting for the bookshelf people...should be any minute now. I hate waiting.
