The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

But he is already a professional Overlord. Wouldn't that disqualify him? You could always to the 'Apprentice' style show and have people try to suck up to an evil overlord.

Half of the contestants on American Idol are just silly, too. It's part of the charm of the show...or so I gather.

Dean is good to laugh at.

'Build a doomsday weapon' followed by 'Blackmail a super power with your doomsday weapon.'

Do ninja llamas count as a doomsday weapon?

We'll call it "Who Wants to Rule the World?" and it'll be a super hit.

Putting Howard Dean on the show somehow would be very good for entertainment value

Just think of all the sound boards (or equivalents) would need replacing.

So if you had a computer parts company called "Prairie Dog Yell", you'd make a fortune!

That's a good list. I eggspecially like the one about wearing bright, cheery colors to confuse the enemy.

Before employing any captured artifacts or machinery, I will carefully read the owner's manual.

Wuss! I bet he calls tech support too!

I had that list on my wall for a while. Then I decided I knew everything on it well enough. :-D

I'm going to make Big'ol watch another installment of American Idol this evening. (It's part of my Evil Overlord Development Plan....)

Kinda out of date list. It does not even include the 'things not to do as an evil overlord's daughter'.

It doesn't even begin to make up for baseball season that gets inflicted on me.

I married a Red Sox fan.
