I wish I had seen that post about you guys going out last night a bit earlier. I was gonna suggest you try out that DVD player with one of The Movies to see how it looks/sounds.
We did try it out... brought along a DVD to watch on the way there - It's pretty cool :~D
But wait till you experience the moving map and the woman who tells him when and where to turn.
I've heard it over the phone, but can't wait to see it in action.
And here I spent my life thinking that guys didn't want to ask for directions. ;-)
Anyway, a DVD player isn't a bad thing to have in the car. If you're parked somewhere waiting for someone, you can move to the backseat and pop in a flick to pass the time.
The person who drove us to the water treatment place last week had one of those. I wanted to smash the crap out of it...don't like machines talking to me.
Well, I guess she can keep a guy company on the road ;~D
We talked last night about an obvious potential upgrade... custom voices you can download... The possibilities are endless :~D
I vote for Cartman's voice!
Program it so that every time you leave the parking garage at work it says "Screw you guys, I'm going home."
It'll happen... I bet money :~D

lordy, indeed. I am getting ready for church. PE is going to stay home so he can figure out how to hang the ladder again. We still dont't have any hot water.
Apparently, the lines are crossed somewhere, because when I went to make coffee this morning, using COLD water from the bathroom tap, the hot water line filled up again and fouled up his plans on working with a dry line. It's still dripping slightly.
In other news, we finally got rain! There were thunderstorms last night!! WooHoo!
I'll make a frame for it. Perhaps I'll lay it out in the showere, so I can be sure to hit some good stuff.
I wonder how hard it would be to crack that thing and have it yell at you when you make a turn it doesn't recommend. "No, you idiot! Left at Maple!"
Back seat driver hack?
It'll make vague squeaking noises when the driver makes too sudden a turn :-)
Last night we made turns that were NOT on the calculated route... it just goes quiet and says "recalculating route". It wouldn't be too hard to program it to insult you at that point ;~D.
Or at least have it sigh heavily before saying "recalculating route" and maybe complain a bit about how *hard* its life is - so many selfish drivers who just don't *listen*.
Kindof a "Marvin" character. "Oh alright, you can go this way, but you won't like it".
Ha! A Marvin voice character for a vehicle would be awesome! For awhile, at least. ;-)
