The Hobbit Hole XXVII - And there are many paths to tread...
http://freeper.the-hobbit-hole.net/ ^

Posted on 01/16/2006 6:56:15 AM PST by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

And there are many paths to tread

New verse:

Upon the hearth the fire is red,
Beneath the roof there is a bed;
But not yet weary are our feet,
Still round the corner we may meet
A sudden tree or standing stone
That none have seen but we alone.
Tree and flower and leaf and grass,
Let them pass! Let them pass!
Hill and water under sky,
Pass them by! Pass them by!

Still round the corner there may wait
A new road or a secret gate,
And though we pass them by today,
Tomorrow we may come this way
And take the hidden paths that run
Towards the Moon or to the Sun.
Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe,
Let them go! Let them go!
Sand and stone and pool and dell,
Fare you well! Fare you well!

Home is behind, the world ahead,
And there are many paths to tread
Through shadows to the edge of night,
Until the stars are all alight.
Then world behind and home ahead,
We’ll wander back to home and bed.
Mist and twilight, cloud and shade,
Away shall fade! Away shall fade!
Fire and lamp, and meat and bread,
And then to bed! And then to bed!

Dummm-Da-Ta-Dum, Way Cool. Channel 19 as well, that one comes in real good. Thanks.

BTW - Those may be the chief ingredients, but I maintain there is a secret ingredient. :-)

Now if I only had 'all that money' instead of 'all those loans'....

Just got back in from taking Beren out. This weather change has him nice and feisty, although not so much as last week. (We had a few pretty good bucking fits last weekend. You'd never guess he's 17, he still acts about 5.) Made him carry 100lbs of his own grain down to the barn, he might as well earn a millionth of a percent of his upkeep. :)

Yup, also got Eli Wallach in it, too. "Tuco-the bandit" heh, heh. Let's see, Yul Brenner, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn (I think). That's a classic.

we'll haul some hay in it like we talked about :~D

Well, if you're talking about hauling hay:

You scored as Dressage. You are a dressage horse. You are very graceful, and you know a lot of fancy moves that most nonhorse people never knew a horse could do. You're a very responsive mount and always try to please. You can do anything from a piaffe (trotting in place) to a big, floating canter. You are a very talented horse.

You can fill in the details. Pick a pre-recorded scenario. It prolly fits.

Besides, I don't like to talk about my problems...

;-)

That said, I've opened a bottle of merlot, and I'm off to Neflix-land.

You scored as Trail/Pleasure. You are a trail and/or pleasure horse. You don't neccesarily like the structure of shows, but love to be outside in the woods or just going around the ring in a pleasure ride. You are very relaxed and pretty much nothing scares you. You are the horse that is chosen when people just want a break from the difficulties in life.

We'll have to do the quiz later...

We're back... Ramius's car is remarkable... like driving a computer. Now the boyz are playing with our new DVR.

The kids and I were watching the episode of Stargate Atlantis, "Critical Mass", that was shown last night. One of the scientists was trying to describe a relay contact set up to get in touch with Atlantis to warn them of a booby trap. He first described it as being like the "Twilight Bark" from 101 Dalmations. The scientists all looked at him, totally confused. Then he said, "well, it's like in "The Lord of the Rings", when they lit the signal fires up on the mountains." All of a sudden the other scientists faces just lit up in complete understanding and they all nodded to each other in assent. It was hilarious to see!
