Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
And there are many paths to tread
New verse:
Upon the hearth the fire is red, Beneath the roof there is a bed; But not yet weary are our feet, Still round the corner we may meet A sudden tree or standing stone That none have seen but we alone. Tree and flower and leaf and grass, Let them pass! Let them pass! Hill and water under sky, Pass them by! Pass them by! |
|
|
Still round the corner there may wait A new road or a secret gate, And though we pass them by today, Tomorrow we may come this way And take the hidden paths that run Towards the Moon or to the Sun. Apple, thorn, and nut and sloe, Let them go! Let them go! Sand and stone and pool and dell, Fare you well! Fare you well! |
|
Home is behind, the world ahead, And there are many paths to tread Through shadows to the edge of night, Until the stars are all alight. Then world behind and home ahead, Well wander back to home and bed. Mist and twilight, cloud and shade, Away shall fade! Away shall fade! Fire and lamp, and meat and bread, And then to bed! And then to bed! |

Yup, whole can. If you like I'll check the names and give you more precise quantities at home. I get the coconut milk for a dollar a can at Wal-mart. The curry paste can be harder to find.

Can't say I played smart but I wised up at some point...
To: JenB
That sounds great. Curry Chicken sounds appealing.
I am SO SICK! Just in the last couple of hours I've gone from feeling slightly off to being absolutely sick. My eyes and nose are itchy and running and my throat is on fire. Can't stop sneezing.
I'm sucking Cold-Eeze and hoping for the best.

Maybe I should go check out the rain garden site.
Have you heard Mayor Kay Barnes advertisements for "disconnecting your downspouts and having a rain garden instead"? I'm envisioning a gazillion breeding holes for West Nile virus if everyone follows her plan!!
To: LSAggie
Heh. Disconnecting them from what? The rain garden site sez to put the garden near where the downspout empties.

I am...I'm drinking Scottish Throat Myst. Or I was, before the Cold-Eeze Lozenge.

Disconnecting them from what?
From the radio ads she says the downspouts are connected to the storm sewers, which would then go into streams. I know in LS we had problems with builders connecting the downspouts to the sanitary sewers which would then cause the treatment plants to overflow during periods of high rains. At one time we had a program to 'smoke the sewers" and then look for houses where the smoke was coming up out of the gutters. A lot of people complained when they had to remove the connection, they didn't want that rain on ~their~ property.

I'm logging off. Gonna lay down. Steve'll be home soon and I can turn over control of this house to him for a day or two.

2J, this sounds kinda like what we had.
I thought I had ducked it ... woke up one morning with a little sore throat, and was standing in the kitchen making a sandwich when it hit me all of a sudden, like a baseball bat --- I walked over to the microwave feeling fine, and by the time I got back to the counter, I was weak.
I'm dealing with it a lot better than DaBear, and I think it's 'cause I was chugging water like mad ... 1.5 to 2 liters every two hours. I'm still hacking, and my nose is a little more stopped up than before, but the cough is the worst part.
Drink lots and lots of your FILTERED water!
To: LSAggie
Heh....all my downspouts are above ground. Guess I can build at least 5 water gardens. Six if you count the sump pump drain.
To: LSAggie
Er - make that rain gardens. Dunno if I want to bother with water gardens.
To: 2Jedismom
See ya when we see ya, 2J. Hope you bounce back quick.

Ok...thank you! I'm logging off for real now. Had to make a comment about Toby Keith first.
I don't care for the fellow.

I'm with you...his songs seem to be either "angry American" or arrogant "I'm a *real* man, 'cause I love 'em and leave 'em and don't let 'em keep me tied down" kinda songs...
