Ok, you broke the ice.

Guys, Mitchell's Mausers are probably the most overpriced
items you can get.
Yes they are Mausers, they are Yugo M-48s and as shooter
said you can get them for around $139+ if you look in
Shotgun News.
Better yet, learn about getting a Curio and Relic license
for $30 from the ATF and have those dealers deliver them
via UPS right to your door.

How about an 1893 Turkish Mauser. Made in Germany. Re-heat-treated in 1930s. Only $169.

Oh, and the best part: IT'S NOT A "FIREARM", it's an antique under federal law, so there are no rules and regs regarding it's possession and transfer. YOu might not care now, but when the Clinton admin requires registration or confiscation of all rifles, you can keep this quiet, or even continue to shoot with it with impunity. Rebarrel to 308 for practicality.

My C&R has bveen the most expensive thing I have ever bought. And yes, you are right about Mitchell's Mausers, they are overpriced. Go to http://www.aimsurplus.com instead. They consistently undrrate their guns and I have never been disappointed with something I got from them.
