This is one story that I actually MIGHT be tempted to blame on George Bush, what with all the John Kerry fans in NY.
That being said, the Kennel Club must have used a bizarre terminology, because judging by the dogs you see being walked around the city, the most popular dog in Manhattan is clearly a mutt, followed by a chihauhau, followe by a jack russell terrier. The most popular large dog is clearly the pit bull, which I believe the ACC recently tried to rename to the Manhattan Bull Terrier.

Poodles are OK, if you have a lot of barbecue sauce available.

And if you rub the BBQ sauce all over yourself, right? ;-)

Yep, lots od weiner dogs too. The point is, few people in Manhattan have room for a large breed. And it is supremely unfair to the dog.

Actually, to be picky, poodles do hunt. They are the original water retrieving dog.

Poodle = football Good luck trying to kick a Standard Poodle.
And good luck in the 30 seconds afterward, too. They're good-sized dogs.
