'MURDER' BY BOW AND ARROW
NY Post ^ | January 10, 2006 | DEVIN SMITH

'ARCH' ENEMY: Thomas Sirico poses with a
kill and his hunting bow. He allegedly used a
bow and "razor" arrow to kill Juan Carlos
Muñoz.

January 10, 2006 -- A deranged deer hunter who stalked his prey using a powerful compound bow inexplicably fired a razor-tipped arrow into his neighbor's chest, killing the young father of three, Long Island police said yesterday. Juan Carlos Muñoz — a construction worker friends called "Angel" — was smoking a cigarette in front of his pal's Mastic home Sunday evening when shifty sportsman Thomas Sirico allegedly began cursing and screaming across the road.

Irate that one of his roommates decided to move out, Sirico grabbed his $1,200 hunting bow and launched an arrow at the unidentified lodger.

That arrow missed its target — but seconds later, he saw Muñoz standing across the street.

Sirico — who has a prosthetic leg as a result of a motorcycle accident — approached the man, who was chatting with five pals and a 3-year-old girl.

"What are you looking at?" he asked Muñoz, according to Suffolk County Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick. "Are you looking at me? You have a problem?"

Without warning, Sirico drew the weapon and fired his second arrow at Muñoz, cops said.

The aluminum arrow — which was equipped with razor points and could travel in excess of 300 feet per second — hurtled through Muñoz's chest and burst out his back, cops said.

Muñoz managed to pull the arrow through his body as friends and relatives watched in horror, cops said.

"He just yanked the arrow out of himself and said, 'I've been shot. Call 911. Take me to the hospital,' " witness Christopher Rosario recalled.

Deer Hunter

"What are you looking at?" he asked Muñoz, according to Suffolk County Detective Lt. Jack Fitzpatrick. "Are you looking at me? You have a problem?"

I lost count of the DeNiro references after two.

".. The residents in both houses on Monroe Street had a history of strife, neighbors said. They had a long-simmering feud over Rosario's Chihuahua going to the bathroom in Sirico's front yard.

The neighbors also bickered over loud music coming from both houses in the summer.

Sirico's friends, for their part, said he was a mild-mannered man who loved being outdoors. .."

Little things can build up, but this is crazy!

That's not in your head. It's coming from your neighbor.

Go get your bow and arrow.

Should any ya'll get shot with an arrow, don't pull it out. This may have hastened his death, as the arrow ceased to provide pressure on the wound.

A Gros Ventre is said to have killed three buffalo with one arrow.

The arrow went right through the first buffalo with such speed, it exited and went almost through another... its tip sticking out a few inches.

Another animal bumped into it... sinking the arrowhead just deep enough to pierce its heart.

THE PROFESSIONALS. (One of my favorite films).

I've watched it a bunch of times, and never been able to identify all the guns. They sure had an interesting prop department.
