Perhaps the first thing that leaps out is that it's a very Beatle-centric list. "Sgt. Pepper" is No. 1 as it often is in such lists, but two of the top three albums are by the Beatles, three of the first five and four of the first 10.
The first 10 are:
1) "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" by the Beatles 2) "Pet Sounds" by the Beach Boys 3) "Revolver" by the Beatles 4) "Highway 61 Revisited" by Bob Dylan 5) "Rubber Soul" by the Beatles 6) "What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye 7) "Exile on Main Street" by the Rolling Stones 8) "London Calling" by the Clash 9) "Blonde on Blonde" by Bob Dylan 10) "The Beatles" (The White Album) by the Beatles

I saw Savoy Brown about 1971 or 2 and they did the whole "Steet Corner Talkin'" album live. Awesome! I was glad I was there.

"What's Going On" by Marvin Gaye. Best make-out album, ever. :)Make out??? We're talking music here... not lovin'.
Oh, never mind. But I still think Jethro Tull or Led Zeppelin should be on the list.

I agree with you. I don't know who put this list together, but their taste is way different from mine. "London Calling" is the only album I think I agree should be on this list.
To: scott says
I agree with you regarding the early Clash. They were truly "the only band that mattered" for a time. They started going bad with "Sandinista" and they really tanked with "Combat Rock" with "Rock The Casbah" being one of the most annoying songs of alltime.

my collection is heavy psychadelic, acid, garage from all over the world.
you can not believe the stuff out of south america in the late 60's. dugs dugs, aquaterbia, papo's blues, the electrico blues. etc etc.

I haven't heard Quicksilver Messenger Service in years. I still regret selling a lot of my albums many years ago. :-(

I'll BUMP that one! I worked that album over for a period and there's a lot of great playing on it. My favorite cut is Havona, love that bass solo by Jaco.

"A Hard Day's Night" ------ greatest album ever made! Bar none. And I'm a hard core Beatles fan too.
Every song on this album is a hit, every single one of 'em! (excepting perhaps the last song "I'll Be Back"), but us Beatles fans have a curious credo that says: 'Even the weakest of the Fabs tunes are better than most bands at their strongest!' ... OK, perhaps a bit provocatively arrogant there, but you know what I mean :)
