Okay enquiring minds want to know :
Which would you prefer a private company delivering your mail or the U.S.P.S.?
And since I've worked for them since 1986, yeah, I'll take them too :) We're governmental but can run like a business.
A successful one.
On second thought, let's go private and have people pay
$1 for a stamp; cut back on delivery...Privatize the
military too, while we're at it. I'm sure they could do
a better job that way (/ sarcasm) :)
Might try reading the Constitution someday.
Gee, I thought we were talking about the US Postal Service.
I didn't see that in that "little deal."
You obviously know alot about the USPS. Do you really think the framers had that bloated behemoth in mind when they wrote that little deal?
There's little flexibility in USPS pay structures; there's even less thought given to making that pay competitive.
Seems to me that for any private sector business if the landlord fails to pay his property taxes it can and does cause additional costs for that business.
Then don't concentrate your mailing at Christmas. I don't.
A privately operated military would be bringing back the oil wells, mineral rights, trained house servants and other assets.
These are the same guys who thought the Department of Defense ought to be a contract operation that sought the services of privateers and state militias for anything serious too.
I'm sure we agree on alot of things.
But like health care, taxes, social security...
I just think we need a new tea party.
So...I shouldn't try to use A MACHINE - one that was specifically designed to lighten the load on the office windows - during the month of December? Here in the eee-vil corporate world, we would just, like, fix the problem.
I think you just proved my point for me!
Corporate interests see to their employees needs to wrap packages and allow them the use of the company's machinery at Christmas time.
If it works in Australia, which has MANY more remote areas than the US, then it could work here as well.
Apparently Australia is going to privatise its post office. The Australian Labour Party is having fits about it, but that only is an encouraging sign.
