I think the spammers should have to pay for a plane ticket for my baseball bat and me to go wherever they are.

If you are saying that only two or three a day is good, I feel quite fortunate.

Can one be pro-capitalism and anti-spam at the same time?

Being pro-capitalism would lead one to be anti-spam, as spam is a gross violation of the property rights of the recipients, whose property is being abused without their permission.

Hell, I'd pay for that plane ticket. Or better yet, let's use technology as appropriate. Remember those hunting-over-the-internet sites that allowed you to remotely fire weapons at wild game? Get a bunch of spammers in a locked room with cameras and BB guns fixed at various points to the ceiling....

Require that all advert Email have the word ADVERT or ADV in the subject line. Then offer a monetary reward for turning in a spamer that violates that restriction.

1. Makes it easy to filter (If you cant afford the cycles or bandwidth find something else to do)

2. Lots of people out there with plenty of time on their hands to turn in Spammers.

3. Fine them and confiscate their assets to pay for the rewards and I think Jail Time is in order.

Now I know this does not address Spammers residing in say China but its a good start.

Can one be pro-capitalism and anti-spam at the same time?

Being pro-capitalism requires being pro-property-rights, which in turn requires being anti-spam.

I wouldn't want to destroy someone's spamming business

Why ever not? Destroying someone's spamming business is no different from destroying someone's counterfeiting business or someone's fencing* business.

*The dealing-in-stolen-property definition, not the swordfighting-arts one.

Another idea... don't let them get your email address in the first place. Use something like stingbox.com which lets you use a temporary email address rather than your own when signing up for stuff online. They can't solicit/scam you if they don't have your real email address to begin with!
