I am a christian, and I had some misgivings at first, but I really think that Harry Potter is just that, fantasy. I also agree that it can not be compared to Lord of the Rings. People who say that they haven't heard of Lord of the Rings before the movies - oh dear, WHERE were you born??

There once was a poster named Mariek,
Whose initial post was deemed quite weak,
She posted a vanity,
To share her insanity,
So she was zotted without a paddle up the creek.

I wonder if Mariek didn't wake out of a sound sleep to start this thread . . . like Seinfeld writing stuff down and not remembering what he wrote?
To: leadpenny
Ummm, I'll be honest and admit I never saw Seinfeld. Is there like a Cliff Notes version I can pick so I can be up on the cultural references? I'm such a trog :(

You really need to get some professional counseling. :)
I never watched the originals but now I sometimes get three doses of it in the evening.
There is always more than one line or plot in each episode and most of the time they come together at the end. Larry David is a genius.
On one episode Jerry wakes up laughing in the middle of the night and writes some notes down for a future stand-up routine. In the morning he nor anyone else can figure out what he was thinking when he scribbled the notes.

For some reason that makes me think of one of those Greek plays where the hero has ticked off the gods and the gods have responded by siccing some inventive curse on him.
