The ref was wrong, that was an incompletion anywhere on the field. We see that kind of play called an incompletion once a week in the NFL, usually on the sidelines, sometimes in the middle of the field, once in a while in the end zone. If the player doesn't maintain control during the fall it is ALWAYS an incompletion every time anywhere on the field no variations ever.

The Rose Bowl was a pathetic example of everything that's wrong with college football. No defense, a stupic BCS system and the 100th bowl game in the last two weeks. BLECH.

What about Super Bowl XII when Butch Johnson lost control after he scored a TD?

I was pulling for the skins and I didn't like that call. Whether or not he had control was not that clear, the TD should've been awarded to TB.

LOL

I guess OHio State doesn't play defense then...

Let me guess, you don't have a favorite college team nor do you watch much college football?

You are obviously missing quite a bit if you are judging an entire sport on ONE game.

Skins to Seattle, #last always faces #first and as the #6 seed that makes the Skins #last for as long as they stay.

Well .....Congratulations to the Skins.
Let's see what Bellicek and Brady have up their sleeves.

Giants and Redskins are 1 and 1.....Giants win tomorrow and it might be match off.

28 years ago, the completion and TD rules have been re-written at least twice in that time.

How would you propose an equitiable NCAA college football playoff without it being another giveaway to the 7 big teams plus Notre Dame?

I hate college football with a passion, and I didn't watch it, and I'm glad I didn't because the score board clearly indicates I would have hated it.

I don't understand, once the player crosses the goal line with possession, it's a TD. He had two steps. I bet if it had been against Dallas it would have been ruled a TD.

I got your answer right now.

a 16 team tournament.

all 11 conference winners get in automatically.

You put it in 4-4 team regions, trying to keep the teams within their certain region (North, WEst, South, East)

You determine, via the BCS formula, the 5 at-large bids. The qualifiers are that they must be within the top 16 of the BCS and cannot have more than 3 losses in a 12 game season (sometimes in college there are 14 game seasons).

And another thing, you don't allow any polls or rankings to come out until week 5.

I don't judge it on one game. The two teams that played in the Rose Bowl won their regular season games by an average of 35 plus, that right there demonstrates the incredible lack of defense in college football. Sure there's generally 1 or 2 teams that actually know how to play defense, but they're the exception not the rule. On the rare occassions I suffer through a college football game (generally at a sports bar or someplace else where I don't control the remote) it's always the same thing, at least 1 and often times both teams scoring at will, a complete yawn fest.

Everybody likes the kind of football they like. I like strong defenses smashing offenses in the mouth. Best football game I've ever seen was Steel Curtain vs Purple People Eater for all the marbles, 0-2 at the end of the first half. THAT is football.

The Redskins will not make it past Seattle. Take it to the bank. (They were lucky to make it past Tampa)

and THAT is boring.

I like good defense too, but I don't like having an offense so inept that it looks like a damned soccer match.

And if you didn't really notice, the Rose Bowl TURNED on defensive plays all night long.

Tampa Bay should've won that game, or at least it should be OT right now. How in the hell is it a touchdown if one player can jump through the end zone out of bounds, but isn't a touchdown if a guy catches the ball inside the end zone?

The refs gave Washington this game. Gibbs can't be feeling too confident about the next game right now, if he had to rely on the refs to win.

Ah well, time for a game in which we know who'll win. Now to see about getting ABCHD...
