RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Tech coach Frank Beamer will meet with Marcus Vick at his home on Friday and no announcement of possible discipline for the junior quarterback will be made before that, athletic director Jim Weaver said Thursday.
The meeting will take place at the home of Vick's mother in Hampton Roads, Weaver said, and also will involve Vick's mother and possibly his brother, former Virginia Tech star Michael Vick, quarterback and merchandising megastar for the Atlanta Falcons.
"He's going there to talk about the situation and what issues are out there at this point and what Marcus needs to do," Weaver said in a telephone interview.
Vick, whose career at Virginia Tech has been turbulent, set off a firestorm of new criticism in the Gator Bowl when he was caught on tape stomping on the left calf of Lousiville All-American Elvis Dumervil after Dumervil tackled him during the game.
Vick was not penalized on the play, but claimed later that he had apologized to Dumervil and that everything was fine. Dumervil said he received no such apology.
Beamer said following the Hokies 35-24 comeback victory that he had not seen the play and couldn't comment on it, and he has not returned phone messages since.

Doubtful. He should be expelled after already having been in serious trouble with the school twice.
Classless act.
Marcus Vick should be banned from college football.
I wouldn't want either one of the Vick boys.
I'm sure there were other dirty plays by Louisville. Football isn't pick up sticks. Suck it up.
Why not? You get to choose between one that will give you herpes and one that will drug you, if you're underage, to have sex with you.
whos got the herpes and who is the rapist? LOL I just think they both stink at QB. :)
My my my.... are you one of those hockey dads, too?
There are dirty plays and hard hits, and there is downright uncalled for, dangerous behavior. Marcus Vick gives the rest of the Hokies a bad name. It makes it hard to root for them when he acts the way he does. He was almost as bad during the ACC championship. Not to mention clocking the WVU assistant coach.
Michael = Ron Mexico Jr (the name he used when filling his herpes prescription)
Marcus = drugging underage girls
But hey, they're both great QBs right? Or so says the all-knowing ESPN.
Was the player injured in any real way? I doubt it. It's silly to squawk about getting stomped on while playing football if no injury occurs.
No even ESPN is starting to throw Michael under the bus. They con only try and fool the people so long. After a few years the old excuses dont work anymore you know the ones "oh come on, hes young"
Did you see the play? You need to see the play and then see if its silly.
BS. Injury or no, it was a deliberate act. It was nothing but thuggery, and you're supporting it. Disgraceful.
On top of that he (Vick) tried to say it was an accident. Did he not think we could all see with our own eyes it wasn't?
He's just an over-rated runner-gunner with a big arm and no accuracy. What people call "talent" means only that he can run fast and juke. He also has poor judgment when it comes to women.
In short, he's just like his brother!
Marcus Vick should fit right in with the pro game where running backs regularly get their ankles twisted & their eyes gouged when on the bottom of a pile.
Its a shame that this stuff is moving down into the collegiate & HS levels.
BTW, did you see all the gang hand signs from the USC players every time the camera panned their sideline? Somebody -- the coach -- needs to ask these 'players' whose team they really play for.
Thank God that Virginia Tech did the right thing and dumped the thug. I am an alumnus of the University of Louisville and I was there watching the bowl game with my school. It was disgraceful and disgusting; anyone that argues againt that point is equally disgraceful and disgusting.
Im the first player to want tough play on the field but, that was ignorant. Good job for the school getting rid of him.
